You have to make a appointment to get in which is not a problem but you can only do it on line and the courthouse only has one door you can use which is on the north side.

As far as I know you can't get a duplicate by calling anymore. I got my license that way a couple months back but have been told within the past week that it is no longer an option. You should be able to log into mydmviowa.com and put all your information in and order a duplicate if it's a standard license.
