I had a great experience with the inspector Joe. He was prompt, answered all my questions and was very polite. He had to come twice since my first inspection didn't pass. I was grateful that he found the problem so the furnace company could fix it as there was condensation that was causing rust in my furnace since the furnace company did not do it right the first time. I also had no problem when calling to set up either appointment and my appointments were made within a week of me calling.

I have done a lot of work in the area that has required permits in Lucas County. I am amazed at how the inspection department runs things. Everyone seems like they don't like their job and never wants to work there. When they are there, they talk down to you and can be very condescending. If it's busy or they are short staffed (both of which happen frequently) you'll be on hold for about 5 minutes. Recently called in an inspection and they were a week out on being able to perform the inspection. Have had numerous times where I'll call while the lady who schedules inspections is at lunch and no one else there can schedule and need to call back. If you call a second past 330, they won't even schedule an inspection. Try to have the inspectors let me know when they'll be at a job and I can never get a straight answer ... it's just all around very difficult to work with lucas county building regs.
