So... It was an okay hotel. It isn't awful, but you should know the pool is tiny. And when we were there the hot tub was broken. There was a review that even said that this hot tub was broken 2 months ago. My husband is a war vet with tons of back pain so I went out of my way to book a room with a tub. I guess they don't have anyone who fixes hot tubs in Springfield Illinois. They should stop advertising that they have a hot tub at this point. The place isn't super clean. Again, it's okay.

I’ll be real here. The rooms were that of any type of hotel of this nature. Not bad at all, but nothing spectacular. And yeah from the looks of it there were things like full garbages that needed emptying, etc. But I’m giving this the highest rating because of the people there. I stopped because of a storm and the place was a madhouse. Parties, a wedding, little league teams, and others stopped due to the weather. During all of this, the storm knocked the computer systems out. The people there didn’t show one ounce of frustration and were actually bending over backwards to help people. The multitasking was insane. The cleaning crew was working their tails off in the morning and after the parties. They were so nice when you stopped to talk to them. Sometimes you need to look deeper and gather a little context when you review a place. I did and the people that work here did exceptional given the challenges they were facing. Stop in here. Stay here. Say hi and get to know them and treat them with respect and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Great work guys. Keep it up!

Clean rooms, comfortable bed, responsive staff. The pool is small, but the kids still enjoyed it. There's a nice hot tub too. Breakfast was good (there is a fee for a hot breakfast). The conference room is nice too.

Front staff very nice and helpful. Lobby is very modern and nice. Rooms are outdated and we had clothes in our closet when we arrived. Got the jacuzzi room and it was clean and working. Would have gave 5 stars if rooms updated and cleaned properly we did enjoy our stay. Front staff made the stars for sure. They where great. Made a few requests and they made it happen.

Yes
It is a buffet style with cooked to order hot dishes like eggs, omelettes and pancakes. There are breads, danishes, fruit, yogurt, cereal etc.
There's a seafood restaurant across the street with limited dining and most of the restaurants in the area were open with limited seating.
No, the Wingate across the street used to be a Hampton. This has always been a Hilton Garden Inn.
