I I had to get some of my business handled at the SS office a lady promptly answered the call i told her my situation she explained to me what i needed to send to them which i did when she recieved my important documents she sent me a letter letting me know they had recieved it and had sent my documents back already for my records. She was very polite and most helpful. I do have to say i truthly care for actually being able to go into the SS office and speaking in person to the employee's rather than over a phone call our SS and disability are majorly important matters too important to speak over the phone to someone whom may be different everytime , also for things such as print outs of our income i suppose we will have to call and im sure i just hit it at a good time when i called and immediately got someone but likely as not it could take hours just to let someone know we need a print out then we will have to wait untill it shows up in the mail. I do not care for this new way of business at all. Joy F Blair

The Selma Social Security office is the worst, they never answer the phone, the case workers never return calls and even when you try contacting them through mail or sending in forms by mail, you don't get any response or correspondence back to confirm if they received anything or not, what is these people being paid for?

The local Social Security office in Dallas County Alabama is only open by special Appointment. I used the national 1-800 number to get thru. I was put on hold for over 40 minutes.

I went to the local office Thursday the 3rd and there was a sign saying phone service only. I tried to call but to no avail. I ended up calling the 1-800 number and waited over 40 minutes before I received help.
