This is a hidden gem. The emerald Russian River, the redwood trees, are all that I saw from my cabin window and balcony. The fragrance of honeysuckles lingers outside the cabin and inside on the walls are vintage whimsical posters. They surely would bring smiles to guests far and near alike. Our cabin is simple and rustic yet clean and comfy. My son and I first were keen to see the vegetable and flower garden and then we kayaked on the Russian River for the rest of the day - I was living the life in my dream. Wow. What a retreat - back to nature and become part of this great nature - heart, body and mind! Thank you, Ethan and your staff team, for your warm hospitality! We look forward to our return soon!

Great beach spot to tub or kayak. You can reserve umbrellas, chairs, kayaks, and canoes on their website. There is a great little snack bar with beer and wine. You can’t bring your own drinks or chairs but it’s a great way to have less people on the beach vs. a public river front. Check out the camp ground for an easy place to stay where you can have a fire but still walking into town for a meal or ice cream!

I visited on 4th of July. It wasn’t crowded at all. My friends and I had fun kayaking. Bathroom facilities are poor but overall was a great spot to hang with friends. You CAN bring your own food just no alcohol. Burgers and hotdogs available too.

One of our favorite SF getaways - Johnson’s Beach! We love camping or just spending a day on the River. We were sad that the concession stand no longer exists though.

No. Closes after Labor Day.
It's a perfect place for sandwiches and light salad. A bottle of water and an apple and nothing more lol It's not like a park but more of a place to appreciate nature. It's a lovely rock pebble beach
Not on the beach it self, but there is a grassy are with picnic tables and BBQ 's
The beach is 1 to 5 short blocks. everything is walking distance. The whole town of Guerneville 600yds x 700yds
Yes, the water is warm and flowing slowly. Water isn't crystal clear, it's just a bit muddy/murky, you can see 3 feet into the water. This is beach schedule: May 15 to June 6 – Weekend only June 11 to Aug 22 – Daily Aug 23 to Sept 26 – Weekend only Beach is open but they are limiting the crowd due to Covid, so you need to make reservations for a beach spot at Johnsonsbeach.com (cheapest is $15 for 3rd row spot) They provide a large umbrella which is good enough for 4 people. It's recommended to pay $7 for parking as well, but you an try and find free street parking if you wish.
The beach is public so no reservations have to be made to just enjoy the beach.
No
Yes but must be on leash or will be ticketed. Strongly enforced.
Online at johnsonsbeach.com
The beach at Monte Rio is FREE and also has concession stands, rentals and BBQ pits, etc. A much better choice.
Yes, there are bathrooms. The stalls are tiny bit you can change in them with a little maneuvering. They also have an ADA porta-pot for those who require it.
This beach is very popular amongst the locals and tourists alike. My advice is to get there early so you get a prime spot. There's a crowd, but it's worth it!
No Johnson's isn't but Monte Rio beach west of the bridge is dog friendly
Hello...yes you can. Just needs to be on a leash. But I would recommend going to Debrava beach which is a little over a mile from there West on Hwy 116..you will see a dirt parking lot just kitty corner across the highway from the "Garden Grill" restaurant on the left.
Yes it will be open tomorrow from 10-6 🏖
Also keep in mind that there is very little camping here, and fills up quickly!
They have the best strawberry Sunday! A family familiarity atmosphere!
I went in July my family paid for two houses a year in advance but as resrving depends on what reserving for
Love this area...go every year for Jazz festival😄
Free parking just come on down and free entry
Yes. They regulate outside alcohol use because they sell beer and wine but, food is allowed. They have a very inexpensive snack shack with burgers fries and shakes etc...
