My family and I really enjoyed our stay! It was great to wake up in a new environment so close to nature! The staff members were so helpful and nice throughout our whole trip! We got a 2 bed cabin,it was very clean and organized including the bathroom. No bugs inside our cabin aside from the ocassional ant but that's it. The walking trails were nice to explore together.Overall a really Beautiful and Fun Experience! Thank you!

Would not recommend. My partner and I planned our day around being on time or in the area early and we were sent a text at 2:11PM that our cabin was ready. As we use the code that is my phone number around 3:10PM to get in, we quickly notice the sheets are torn off the bed and the cabin had not been cleaned yet. So we sit outside as they clean it for 20 minutes hoping they aren’t rushing while simultaneously receiving some texts that our checkout was moved to 11:30 from 11AM. I responded by telling them how unprofessional the situation was and was refunded $25 of my one night stay. If that wasn’t enough of a sub-par experience I was told by the cleaning staff that the wood, fire starters, etc would be free and that I could use all I needed. I already planned to use my own wood but did use 2 of their fire starters. I received a bill for $4 for these. Now don’t get me wrong, $4 is no big deal, but the complete lack of communication and among the Getaway teams is mind blowing and I was not going to write a review until the $4 charge email came through this evening. For a company as large and well known as Getaway I honestly would have expected a full night’s refund at this point. My one night was only about $120 all-in and would hope making a customer’s experience amazing would be worth more than $120 but here we are. My girl and I had an alright time but that bad start really set the tone for the whole trip. Still waiting to hear back on my $4 refund; I wanted to just snag all firewood to take home since he said it was free but I refrained…

Great place to stay with our 2 young kids and dog. Even though we saw that many of the 40 cabins were occupied during our stay, we felt secluded and only ran into other people twice. The cabin itself is thoughtfully designed with large beds and everything you need for basic cooking except no collander, and no coffee maker even though they sell pourover coffee and not instant. That perplexed me. I took off a star because the firewood is very expensive. Definitely bring your own if you plan to make a fire.

This is my second time to Getaway - Piney Woods and it really is such a great place to get away from normal life and relax. Both times, I've gone solo (with my dog) and felt completely comfortable and safe. You have to pay a little pet fee to bring a dog, but they make it worth it with treats and bags to clean up after them. I did have some cell phone coverage (AT&T) which was good for checking in with folks at home, but really enjoyed putting my phone on silence and stashing it away for the evening. The area is also beautiful - I definitely recommend just walking along the road up to the top of the property for some pretty views.

Hi Joe! Our cabins have 110V outlets.
Anytime is good just check the forecast
Each campsite has bundles of firewood available at $8 (I think) a bundle
Thanks for your question, Zac! While there are no fishing spots directly on our Outpost, you can check out Purtis Creek State Park just over a 30 minute drive from your cabin.
Check the website.
Hi Sean, The mini fridge is 2.6 cubic feet (it's the red box in photos you may have seen!). We recommend bringing your own cooler for ice. Coolers are not provided outside. We look forward to welcoming you for Christmas!
Thanks for your question, Harolyn. While there is no wifi at the cabins, most guests have cell service in at least some areas of our Outpost, and each cabin is equipped with a landline. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to truly disconnect.
The distance varies, but each site seems to be solated from others from what I could tell on our walks there. Our site was isolated and had a great stay.
Thanks for your question - happy to help! You are charged for your reservation upon booking. If you use firewood or provisions while on your Getaway, we will charge your card on record after your stay.
Hi Gloria! The nightly rate varies depending on day of week and time of year. Feel free to check out our booking calendar for the most up-to-date rates here: https://getaway.house/booking
