Juniper Westbound and Eastbound Rest Area

We stopped going westbound on Friday, June 17th and eastbound on Sunday, June 19th. It was terrible. There was trash EVERYWHERE at both locations. There was no toilet paper ANYWHERE in sight in the eastbound one today. I stop at that rest area all the time and have never seen it in such terrible conditions. I have never seen ANY rest area so trashed. It was disgusting.

I was enticed by the sign "geological site"... Fossil bed?? Mineral deposit???? What's this fenced in area that's dug out??? A: no trespassing, human waste....well ain't this some $h!t... Spoiler alert: geological site is a sign that explains this area was once a part of Bonneville lake... Also the toilet paper is so thin that to be able to pull off more than one sheet at a time your ninja skills must be on par with walking on rice paper placed on top of crushed gravel without making any holes in the paper... Hint: it helps if you meditate really hard first...ooohhmm!! Clear your mind and your bowels... ooohhmm

Pulled over here for a quick stop at night, it was already dark but looked like they had some nice walking trails begins the rest stop. Probably looks nice during daylight. Lot of parking on a Saturday night for cars. Well lit, felt safe enough if you needed a quick rest/snooze. Bathrooms and facilities were clean and well maintained. We are so lucky to have these rest areas available for travelers. These do not exist in most places around the world.

Beautiful rest stop. My kids got to see their first juniper trees. Facility is clean. There is indoor seating area to escape the cold.
