We stayed here for one night while in Tampa and had a nice experience. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was clean and simple with plenty of room for the three of us that stayed there. We also had a nice partial view of the river that was enjoyable. The parking was a bit expensive and valet was the only option, but I would venture to guess that parking anywhere near the hotel would have been just as expensive.

Staying here over the weekend and it is a very nice hotel! Great Location and love the balcony view from our room. Only thing I will critique is the fact it is $30+ a day for parking and is valet only. I asked if they just had standard parking and it isn’t an option. I kind of feel a little restricted using my car because someone has to go and get it for you every time I need it and we needed it a lot so I felt bad lol Would rather just have full access to a parking lot but other than that nice hotel!

Check-in went smoothly, nothing else did. I arrived in my room, standard Aloft room with a nice view but I noticed that the entire control panel for the safe was hanging by a thread, dangling. I needed to lock up a valuable, get ready for a dinner appointment and leave. I called the desk and asked to be moved or to get the safe fixed. I was told they’d call me back. 30 minutes later I called to see if they could move me, that I had an appointment and needed to leave soon. I was told that they were sold out and all the managers were in a meeting. They’d call me back. 10 minutes later a maintenance worker knocked on my door and had a plunger. He thought they said sink, not safe. He walked away. I called the desk and they said they’d fix it later. I couldn’t take my valuables with me, so later wouldn’t work. I needed to get changed and freshen up but I didn’t want to be in the middle of that and partially unpacked if they were going to move me. I finally got a manger on the line who said she’d move me. I asked if they could bring me the key. The answer was no, I have to come down and get it. PS I’m a gold rewards member, whatever. The new room was a handicap room and faced a concrete wall. Didn’t care, the safe worked. I asked for a 1:30 pm check out and the front desk said fine. The next morning I go to use their liquid shower gel, that is bolted to the wall and it’s empty. I showered with shampoo. I reconfirmed in the morning my 1:30 check out and the night clerk failed to note that. I would’ve been charged 1/2 day had I not rechecked. The overall attitude is poor and the staff isn’t trained with Marriott standards, at all. I’ll be staying at any other property downtown. Another PS, I’ve stayed here numerous times but it’s gone too far down hill for me to go back.

It was a good hotel, but not as nice as they portray it to be. It was very chilly out and when we got to our room it was about 60 degrees in it. We turned the heat on and waited 15 minutes while nothing but cold air blew. We called the desk at 54 degrees and they sent someone to look. He was puzzled, told us to turn it off for 5 minutes, and then it should work. If not, then he wasn't sure what the issue is. We followed instructions and still cold air blew. We went down and requested a new room and the girl at the desk told us that it takes an hour for the air to start working. My wife and I have traveled a bit and have stayed in worse hotels whose A/C worked relatively immediately. Her response verbatim was "well this is a different hotel." We left and gave it 90 minutes before returning. The room was 54 degrees. I went downstairs and waited a few minutes for our friend to leave the front desk so I could ask someone else for a new room. He was understanding and gave us a new room (which was only halfway cleaned and had enormous balls of hair in the shower). Then (and admittedly this isn't the hotels fault) our neighbors kept us up all night by yelling and talking at an unnecessary volume. Needless to say this could have been a better experience.

Don't stay at the Loft. It is loud and really a party place. It is not family and kid friendly. The women are inappropriately dressed, meaning too exposed! Stay elsewhere!
