I can't say enough good things about Dr Cohen. Such a talented plastic surgeon. Went to him for breast augmentation and am so unbelievably happy with his work. He did everything I wanted. He definitely deserves recognition. Not only is his work excellent, as a person is he very kind and down to earth just what you would want in a dr. His staff is comforting and very informative as well. All around great experience.I would highly recommend him to anyone.

After visiting 5 other doctors, I chose Dr. Cohen for my cosmetic surgery. Dr. Cohen and his staff were thorough, professional, and polite. Dr. Cohen’s skills are incredible, but the most impressive thing about Dr. Cohen is his integrity.

Questions & Answers

Can labiaplasty be part of a mommy makeover?

Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Dec 23, 2021
Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Dec 23, 2021

The term "mommy makeover" refers to a combination of surgical procedures designed to address the physical toll many women experience after having children. A mommy makeover typically includes breast enhancement surgery and a tummy tuck, but labiaplasty can be included, as well. This is something you should discuss with a plastic surgeon during a consultation.

I got breast implants 10 years ago. Do I need to have them replaced now?

Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Dec 23, 2021
Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Dec 23, 2021

Not necessarily. You may have read that breast implants need to be replaced after 10 years, but that's only an estimate. If you're still happy with how they look and are not experiencing any complications, there's no reason to undergo breast augmentation revision surgery at this time.

Will insurance cover breast reduction?

Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Dec 23, 2021
Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Dec 23, 2021

In many cases, insurance will cover breast reduction surgery because overly large breasts can cause neck, shoulder, and back pain, rashes, grooves in the skin from bra straps, and other health concerns. It's important to have these conditions diagnosed and to get prior authorization from your insurance carrier before undergoing breast reduction surgery.

Does a breast lift have to have inplants

Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Oct 19, 2020

A breast lift is a way to reshape a drooping or distorted breast but this is a separate issue from breast volume. For women that have less volume than desired, a breast lift can be combined with implants or fat grafting to create more fullness. For women that want to remain the same approximate size, a breast lift can be performed on it’s own and for women with too much volume, the breast lift can be combined with tissue removal (breast reduction surgery).

Can I breastfeed after breast augmentation?

Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Jun 21, 2022
Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Jun 21, 2022

Most women who get breast implants—either saline or silicone—can successfully breastfeed. It's important to know that about 30% of women who don't get any type of breast surgery have difficulty breastfeeding. Breast augmentation surgery doesn't significantly change that percentage. The incision location isn't an important factor because most milk ducts aren't damaged regardless of the approach.

How long do breast implants last?

Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Jun 21, 2022
Robert Cohen, MD, FACS | Jun 21, 2022

Breast implants are durable, but most women will replace or remove their implants at some point. There is no specific timeline for removal, and many patients keep their implants for 10 or more years. If you're happy with the appearance of your breasts and not experiencing any complications, there is no reason to replace the implants.
