They have opened back up after remodeling and it is looking good. It feels good to hike Cholla again and excited to see what else they are going to add to this side of the mountain. What a hike though. Bring plenty of water 💧 It gets tougher towards the top and a little more dangerous. It took us a about 1 to 2 hours up and back. There is plenty of parking of the street near the mountain. Please, if you're out of town go early in the morning and avoid going during the summer if you're not use to this weather. Don't get air lifted off the mountain.

Awesome hike - Cool to do Piestewa and look to Camelback then CamelBack to view Piestewa Peak! - started at 6:00 am, to catch the sunrise. Trail already had several people on it - used a headlamp (must- if you’re not familiar), pants are helpful if your not an avid climber, you may need to scoot in your bum a few times (I’m short) - Crawler type hike - the course down is pretty quick compared to the steep up climb - not sure I think it was extremely difficult category (slow, steady, hydration, stamina, balance) - parking can be an issue - trail is pretty clean - a few areas have handrails in tough spots❤️ - Peeps were courteous 💕

Cholla trail is open again, with much needed amenities like bathrooms, bike racks, and water fountains at the trail head! Parking is still just along Invergordon. **Be aware: the first half of the trail to the helipad is well maintained, and the view is already great. After that, the trail gets very steep and rocky, with large boulders and drop offs. If you aren’t sure of your abilities or don’t do well with heights, the Echo canyon side may be a safer and more achievable way to get to the top!

Cholla Trail on the east side of Camelback Mountain, Phoenix, Arizona, will re-open Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, after being closed since March 2020, according to the City of Phoenix. — https://www.phoenix.gov/parkssite/Pages/Cholla-Trail-Renovation-Update.aspx Mad Desert Trekking | Scottsdale, Arizona 🦎☀️🌵
If you are talking about the "mileposts?" 35 at top of cholla iirc
It is reopened now, with a new entrance directly off of Invergordon Rd.
It just reopened this weekend
you can't park at the trailhead, it's about a 5 minute walk down the hill to the main street where you can park...
Yes open year round, there is no gate to close the trail.
2 hours is a good estimate for the average person. My fastest time is 50min up and back and I think the fastest time ever is 15minites (only going up). However, it's not uncommon for people to take 3 hours either, especially if they are just out to enjoy the nice weather.
