I attended CBC from 2005 to 2014. It is a nondenominational Bible Church in Paradise Valley, AZ that follows the contemporary Reformed doctrine. Many pastoral sermons quote the likes of R.C. Sproul, Timothy Keller, John Piper and John MacArthur as points of reference (seemed to lean Calvinist?). This is different than what I am used to. I also feel CBC needs to be more involved in the needs of the Phoenix area, as the church does not build relationships with the community or other churches. During the years I attended, CBC was also not open to new ministries for people of various needs, but was more motivated in updating buildings and expanding the parking lot. Wrong priorites! This church is great for families but not for single people. I couldn't relate to the preaching, the doctrine, or the church's mission, and many of my friends left, so I went somewhere else. It wasn't for me.
