Broken Compass
I am a veteran who has a service dog. I went there to camp for a few days with another veteran. I was met with extreme hostility from all the male staff about my service animal. The females was very polite but the men was very argumentative and angry. They gave us dirty looks and when we waved at them they ignored us. They was yelling at me so bad I asked them to call the park rangers and there supervisor. When they refused I left the park. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Honor a your countries veterans and camp somewhere else where they show some respect.

Stayed in the northeast area near the store and next to the lake. Easy to reserve and no check in was needed. Most spots had concrete pads with gravel adjacent. All were of good size, with table, grill, fire ring, water, and electric with both 30(2) and 50 amp. All had nice views of the water though not easy to get down to for fishing, etc. One of my regular go-to locations.

This park is beautiful, recently flooded but was cleaned up nicely. Our spots had big shade trees and a nice breeze. There was a big grassy area to play disk golf and badminton.

Tent sites: $14 RV sites with electric & water hookups: $22 Premium sites: Additional $5 Two full hookup sites with water, electric & sewer: $30 Winter rates (November 1 to March 1): $2 off all sites
There are three shelter picnic areas with tables but you must rent them $75.00 a day no camping under them. But if no one is using them you may luck out and use one for the day. One is right next to the so called bathrooms. Gotta check with the office there.
Yes I would also like to know why us natives are charged for being on our own land!!!
No
Last time we was there, they was. But there was also a big tree in the middle of the road blocking entrance
About $1000
You can not shoot them off in any state park without getting to trouble best to find someone that's lives close and use thier place
It's closed till March
It is usually closed in the winter. Tenkiller lake by Vian and Brushy Lake North of Sallisaw are open year around but in limited capacity
Yes. They don't close the campgrounds /sites till around December
Should be
Yes a couple just down the road. And tahlequah is about 15 miles away
Not unless you get one with electric hook ups! I think all their tent sites are primitive.
No there is not a day use fee
We just went camping there 2 weeks ago, you just have to reserve it on their website first.
Best to reserve. I had two tents and the section next to us had 4
All the tent sites are on the lower side, it looks really nice, close to the lake. You can get electricity and water for tent site if you want.
Open at 6 closes at 19
Uh I don't know it's been flooded there from all the rain we had.
Yes lake tenkiller is open just use caution contact the Corp of engineers for more details
As far in as you can go...they have excellent help in the office
There every where there's trees it's just so beautiful there you could actually go almost anywhere around here and just go but make sure that you know the area well just very beautiful place here I think you would really enjoy it on offseasons right now over at the lake you could get a cabin for about $100 so that's not bad and it's just beautiful here the trees are changing right now and it's just gorgeous but we're fixing to hit 19 it's going to be cold but I recommend a lot of places around here it's very nice
This I can't tell you have to call my family is in one of there cabins an it is 1h a night
I would say call the park office and ask
I see no mention of that program on their website, but they do have senior and disability discounts.
