Another Texas State Park Treasure! Great trails, camping, and many other opportunities to enjoy the beauty and majesty of nature. The scenic trail that displays a story on panels throughout the hike, is a highlight for anyone with children or a love for literature and nature.

Big, clean, and quiet park. Wonderful trails for biking and hiking. Plenty to do and see as well. Take a visit, you won't regret it!

Amazing camping sites. The pads are paved and the majority are level. We stayed at 69 pull through site with water and electric with a great view of the lake. Hiking trails were great and well maintained. The park staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a beautiful park! I saw deer, river otters, armadillos, possums and racoons, ducks too! It's spacious, clean and best of all, no road noise from nearby highways! Super staff. Major downer-swim area is getting taken over with some sort of lake weed. Sort of looks like seaweed. It's choking out the space and looks very nasty. The grassy bank area has lots of picnic tables and looked pretty nice but the water? Yucky. My camping spot in the Springfield loop was very nice and butted up against the lake but again, it's so overgrown with lake grass and the weedy stuff, you can't access it or really even see it, which is unfortunate. It would be perfect to have some lake access for kayaks and paddleboards right from the camping loops. The boat ramps seems pretty busy with big boat traffic. A lake side trail would be awesome too! I'd definitely come back though.

You need to net fish because will a pole u won't catch anything.
Deer are only hunted here through the Texas Drawn Hunts system. There are times set aside for youth and adult hunts. The park is closed to other visitors at those times.
Hi lauren! So you can actually pull up all the campsites info and the connections on the texas state park website! To answer your question, sites 1-36 are water only. Sites 37-135 are water and electric connection sites. We stayed a week in a pull through site number 69. It was wonderful!! Would definitely reccomend. Enjoy your stay!
I've been there numerous times. I've seen deer and raccoons frequently but never a beaver.
Yes there's a riding trail.
For sure! I do pretty good right next to the fishing pier.
The fish are always biting in Fairfield
It is less than $25 a night, if i recall it was $23 a night.
Restroom, good. Thu have grills. Swimming is great. Entrance fee is $ 4.00 for adults. Not sure about children but up to a certain age children are free. That's what my son told me. Fishing is very slow but Thy assured me there were fish in the lake. Didn't catch any in 6hrs. Nor did i see any. Well I did see alligator gar rolling on the surface, just not much else.
They have a fire pit but what state the grate is in will vary site to site.
There is no springs around, but yes there is a swimming area, pier and boat ramp
Yes
Good place
The park sells it for 6.00/small bundle at the gate.
Fairfield is a powerpla t lake a d is at the outlet in summer time is 100 degree
Yes, they book up quickly.
You can buy bait at the ExxonMobil gas station that is right before the state park on 488
You need a day pass to go finishing. Easy to get one online at the TPWD website.
This state park doesn't have shelters or cabins. Great park for rv & tent camping.
Yes
Yes jug-fishing is allowed in all areas except the swimming area
Camping with electric is $20 plus daily entry fee Camping with water is $15 plus daily entry fee Primitive camping is $10 plus daily fee Which is $4 for adults & kids under 12 free. If you have the state park pass it's free entry.
No, all state parks in Texas have a rule of no alcohol
No additional fees. We brought our dog last fall and she loved it. Just make sure pets are leashed.
No they no longer leave

Personal watercraft are not allowed to tie up in boat-launch area. • Stop the spread of invasive species. CLEAN, DRAIN and DRY your boat.
I'm not sure when Christmas in the Park is they don't do reservations you just go there and pay
Yes, but they must be leashed.
Nice place for fishing
You only need your fishing license if you are on a boat. With tarralla you can fish for tilapia, tasting, or carp the catfish, crappie, or bass you have to return those only with bait they allow you to fish them ... (The tarralla cannot be more than 7 feet)
I didnt think they would make it. I was hoping the power plant would keep the water warm enough
Texas State Parks have small Daily Use fees. A guest may fish all day, but must leave before the park closes for the night, generally at 10:00 p.m.
You should be able to use them out in the water. Once you leave the shore you are in public waters. If you are using for bait no permit should be required, but if you are planning to sell them, I believe a 60.00 permit is required.
What's CRV?
You can find directions, make reservations, and much more at tpwd.texas.gov
