A brisk walk through these trees makes for a beautiful time. It's hard to get lost because most of the time, people are walking toward the heart. The heart is located at the end of the trail. Just ensure to wear proper shoes because there are some semi slippery rocks. Most of the path is shady.

Fun little hike for everyone, pictured is the entrance past the parking strip off the road. It's easy to get lost on the hike because there are no markers but follow other people who, even on the busiest days, you will catch sight of here and there.

Very unique location, I will visit it again Just have to be very careful walking through the rocks and we all have to contribute to keep it clean need to apply "you don't bring NOTHING and you don't leave nothing " need to respect

The trail is shaded most of the way making it pleasant on warmer days. When you enter the trail you can go to the right on the dirt path which is a shorter distance to Heart Rock than the paved trail on the left. The heart shaped rock was full of brackish water but still an interesting site. Definitely worth it and easy to get to. Lots of beauty to observe all around.

Not long at all. Gradual stroll and easy at most parts. Probably 1 to 1.5 miles round trip at most.
Yes, I recommend some type of filtration
Type in Heart Rock in Google search for directions. Write in the heart of the rock (Heart Rock) in the Google search for directions and you will find how to get there. Wait to visit after a good rain, so the waterfall will flow. Check the weather and road conditions before going.
There is usually water in the creek, not always flowing at the fall.
Yes, please keep your dog on a lease and clean up after them so we can all enjoy the trail :)
Its a 15 min hike, all downhill the way there.. you can hike up the creek on the way back though.
Having hiked this trail 5 or so times, I have never seen any wildlife that wasn't a lizard or a squirrel.
Park on the side of the road or in the dirt "parking lot" off the main road and then just walk down the trail road
75 miles from downtown LA
Snow has melted but spots are still muddy
In the spring or after a good rainfall the waterfall is usually best
It is still a lovely hike without water.
My walk was 2 hours. I don't think it is a path for children under the age of 10.
No pass needed. Free, but limited parking.
As far as trails go i would say it is easy to moderate difficulty. The trail to the location is prety eazy, however the last bit you need treck down to actually see the heart. Is NOT super easy. I would imagine it would be fairly difficult with a cane, but not impossible. It's the climbing back up to the main trail thats the hard part. I would use caution and make sure you can get out before going down. Just be aware its not quite as easy as the others have implyed.
There is no specific area to park. Once you turned left going toward the trails. Just park on the side dirt.
yes
No you don't. There is an open area on the street to park. From there is a pleasant walk / hike to the heart rock. You choose if you walk along the road or the river We loved it and we will do it again!
