Very nice state park to walk and bike in. I enjoy walking my dog on the trails too. Very well kept park..

So beautiful.

No, there are no beach camping facilities. There is a group/organization cabin, but it is a hike away from the beach.
The pass is $17 annually at the gate. I do not believe you can get a pass for just one day. Or, renew the pass on your license tabs and it only costs $11 per year.
Go to the back of the park....make a right towards Spring Mill Pond and just keep going.... you'll cross a set of tracks, make an immediate left after the tracks(the end of the park)... the last lake..... Island Lake
No sorry there isn't... They have several large parking lots but not a dedicated track...
There are also cabins that you can rent by groups and stuff and I know my sister and her friends even go up in the winter time and the cabin
Yes
There are 14 miles of bike trails at island lake. A word of warning, this requires the state park pass. It is not a metro park and they do ticket.
Yes
If you come in a motor vehicle, you need a pass. If not, such as on a bike or walking, then no.
They have bike, hike, paved and rustic. You can do most anything there.
Yes. Call the Park office.
Not sure if it's legal but I don't think anyone would bother if you kept it to yourself
Yes, you can ride on the yellow and the blue trails only. I’ve been riding there for 13 years. There must be a minimum of 4 inches of snow on the ground.
Not sure, I'll ask next time I'm there
Must be people just out enjoying the beautiful weather...the website does not list any official events today.
Almost the entire park is open to hunting with exception of a few safety zones around the cabins, etc. At the very far end of the park, north of the railroad tracks, it's closed specifically to firearms.
No. Goggle places in that area for camping...You may fine a place close by there for camping.
If you have recreation pass , you do not need to pay anything.. otherwise pay the one time fee for the pass, which is valid for a year
Yes, you can, but you may need to park away from lake cause parking lot often packed.
Pay the annual fee and support the parks. If you get it on your tabs when you renew them it's about 12$ . Or 5$ extra if you get it in the park. Still a steal for all the great places to explore in michigan
The Kent lake beach is also open, and depending on day and time has varying level of crowds. But there's plenty of space for everyone to have their own spots.
Yes it is.
Yes, a fantastic journey.
Yes
They have charcoal grills located throughout the park at the picnic sites and at the beachs
I don't know for sure, but you can call (810) 229 - 7067
35 annual and I believe 10 for a day pass.
but really just support your state parks and buy a year pass! it's relatively near the cost of 2 or 3 day passes. edit: if you're a Michigan license plate, you can buy the year park pass and have it on your plate if you don't like sticky things in the window
We did the pictured Rocks boat tour, the 12 mile hike but did not kayak. Watching the kayaks from the shore it looked like fun
try looking up State Parks-Island Lake should give you answers short of going to the front gate and getting a map of the park
Yes, at the entrance. You can pay in cash and by card. The payment booths however can be closed at times (late in the afternoon for example) and there are no self service kiosks.
Not a good park for a Kayak imo.
Okay will do thank you
Not on the beaches, but you can bring them anywhere else with a leash. And there is a lake that has access without beaches where you could bring a dog.
There are 2 cabins available, very rustic. Both can accommodate up to 20 people. See the website for more info and how to reserve them.
I swim Trout w my swim team. They leave their dogs at home. Trout is mucky at the shoreline.
Don't listen to these other answers. There have been over 310 documented sightings of Canadian alligators in Michigan in 2018 alone. Source: my neighbors cat got eaten by one.
It depends on the weather. When it's been warmer, the water is warmer. I wouldn't recommend trying to swim in the winter though.
There are parts of park that you can drive a semi to. There is a low bridge that you could not get a semi under.
No you cannot ride anything but pedal bikes on their trails...😐😐
Spring Mill pond is open the same hours as the entire park (Dawn til Dusk).
Unfortunately you contacted the shooting range. Their are many places to shore fish at island but the shooting range would not be appropriate.
