During the almost 2 years of service with Xfinity I had so many problems. Sadly I need a high speed service for my work from home and the apartment building where I live doesn't accept a different service. I'm pretty sure they have a deal but whatever is, it works just between Xfinity and the Property management. Their gateway (or router for some people? Works good for some time then needs to be replaced. The worse part can be like happened to me, in the middle of my work day. Their software isn't very good. Just as example, I tried to change the name of my WiFi and password to renew it and have me a big headache. Finally I could use it with different name but same password.... 😠🤨😡🤬🧐🙄😫🤔 At the store I never see the same people working. The hours keep changing. Never update the hours properly. Yesterday they blamed to Google that takes to long to update. Their website is so complicated and dumb, like they have 20 persons working on it but no one connected to another to know what the others are doing..... I called for a CONSULTATION and they changed my plan from $60 to $90 and when I tried to get it back I couldn't, I had to cancel my account, pay over $100 and open a new account for $70. And that is just tip of the iceberg.. I had so much more... I wish I could have access to another service.

Yes it works as Internet for you and it has a separate component in there that gives a hot spot for everybody else
Good luck to you, I have been charged for 2 phones and for the use of services since November 2018. The account was canceled in person at that Xfinity / Comcast Store. Things were just resolved September 2019.
You just need to take back the digital box you can keep all the coax cables
There are xfinity hotspots but you'll have to ask the place you chose if that is who they go through.
