First trip on Amtrak. We are in the station and the station agent Greg is so kind and helpful! Such a blessing to have a kind agent! I’m looking forward to another trip just because of the warm feeling that we were greeted with.

A unique gem vacation. Started in Chicago and looped around the country stopping In Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. A few stops in San Francisco and Los Angeles along the way 🚞 the best way to see the Rockies!

The staffs at the waiting room of salt lake city central station were very nice and pleasant. However the train was over 3 hours late. California Zephyr was suppose to come at 11pm and it came after 2:15am. It was nightmare to wat several hours at the uncomfortable waiting room and I am most likely miss my connecting flights.

Amtrak's California Zephyr line stops at Reno, NV.
Yes you can travel from SLC to NJ, via Amtrak. You'd take the California Zephyr to Chicago, then transfer to the Capitol Limited to Pittsburgh, and then the Pennsylvanian train east into either one of Amtrak's NJ stops past Philly. Or if you wanted to, could switch to a local commuter train out of Philly, like NJ Transit. It'd take something like 3 days to get to Philly, but it can be done. I like train travel more than flying IMO, and if you don't mind that it'd take 3 days to do, it'd probably be fun to either go one way (or both, up to you) or round trip via Amtrak! Just be advised that Amtrak trains are at times subject to freight train delays, and for all I know your trip has a limited percent chance of taking longer than the train schedules. I'd advise looking up juckins.net to look up archieved average Amtrak arrival times and train delays for each of these 3 trains (#6 in SLC, #6 arriving in CHI, #30 in CHI, #30 in PGH, #42 in PGH), before you travel.
10:00pm mountain time Since most trains arrive in the middle of the night
I went from Salt Lake to Elko and I had to arrange my own ride from the train station and to the train station
I don't think there was long term parking at the station but there is at the airport just 10-15 minutes away
Grand junction has a bike rack outside but no luggage spots that lock up
Amtrak does not have ANY passenger train service to Las Vegas any more. There is a Grayhound bus that goes there (The grayhound station is right next to the Amtrak terminal and is where the Blue Line Trax ends on the North side), plus there are regular flights from the airport and some shuttle style bus services that also operate from here to there.
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. There are only two Amtrak trains that go through the station, the eastbound and westbound California Zephyr. Eastbound gets there about 3:30 a.m., and westbound about 11 p.m.
No they dont. Have to change trains and take a bus.
I don't know about the Amtrak parking but I know the parking for uta and Greyhound is open 24 hour
And street parking with no limitations
One train a day. Leaves at 11:30pm.
I believe so call 1 800 USARAIL
nope. no train service whatsoever in the state of wyoming. greyhound is your only option.
I'm so sorry for ur lose there's a app to use called Amtrak it's cheaper that away
yes. westbound is scheduled to arrive around 11:30, but is always delayed for ridiculous reasons.
scheduled around 11:30, but will be delayed substantially for stupid reasons.
