UPDATE: The pier was damaged during Hurricane Ian. Please check prior to visiting.
The pier and beach are nice and not too crowded. The pier is very long but there is a golf cart shuttle that will take you if walking is a problem. Many people fish here. There is a gazebo area where they have live entertainment most evenings. There is a fee for both if you do not stay in the campgrounds. Croakers is the restaurant at the pier. They are good, the service is friendly and it has a good view.

It was very windy and a long walk, but enjoyed it very much.
You dont need a license. You just pay a fee to fish. You receive a wristband and you can fish all day. You can even leave amd come back as long as you keep tje wristband on. They sell bait also!!!
Looked on their website and found this, hope it helps.
⚫A License is not needed when on a charter or fishing on a pier. However, each pier charges a fishing pass fee – approx. $8. If you would like to obtain a license to fish, a 14-day license may be purchased for $11.
I forgot to mention that I went with my husband (who was fishing) as a walker which is $2.
I've heard that this pier is good for crabbing. Do you see people crab there, how do they catch them?

they have a basket style net and the easy tie a piece of chicken in the middle. it will lay flat on the ocean floor crab goes in to eat the chicken and then you pull it up and the crab is caught
Not sure for campers. If just going for the day, you pay $2 to enter the campground, then they give you a token for $2 off the pier. So I am thinking $9 for inside campers.
