Great time at the Beach! Community and Love!

New York City’s gem of a beach. Nothing better than riding out to the Rockaway’s and immediately seeing the Atlantic Ocean. The community is a bit hipsterish but there are also great new places to eat and enjoy. Walk the boardwalk, it is very different than what it was before Hurricane Sandy. And you don’t have to pay to go on the beach unlike other states close by.

Love this beach so much ! Accessible by subway, you can swim and surf during summer, water is pretty hot. Lots of space, beautiful sand, some shops around if you need food and drinks.

We are the Rockaway couple , we spend all summer watching that view

If everyone participating safe distance and respect every other boundaries ( whatever is the situation or places ) will be safer and better place for all.
Yes!
You do need a permit, but it's usually not enforced. Also it's not as good as it sounds, unless u like sandy burgers
Yes, but only during the day time; you must vacate the premises at closing.
I see folks fishing all over that beach. I've never seen anyone catch a fish yet, though! Invest and do some deep sea fishing where the fish are fresher and not eating the garbage that people throw in the water closer to the shoreline. Just a suggestion
Yes, you can take many pets as you want and if you wanna take I go too
Yes, dogs allowed. Yes. U can be calm in the sand
No, it's a NYC public beach, no grilling is allowed - there might be around the area 20 where u might be able to grill but not anywhere else!!look up on the beach website online where u can find the info exactly
Parking yes no fishing facilities but seen people's fishing from the beach
It is but during the beach open season (May to September) dogs are not allowed on the sand by the seashore. The must be on a leash and are allowed up to the boardwalk.
Yea there are quite a few out there and some surf school too
