I had a good experience. I had to transfer my registration from one car to another. I went online to their website and scheduled an appointment. (DMV is “by appointment only “). When you make the appointment you’ll receive a email and text message confirming your appointment. The confirmation will have a code that you will need. If you look on the website you’ll see what you need to bring for what you’re trying to do. I filled out the required form and brought everything I needed to have. I walked in a few minutes before my appointment time. A person checked off my name and I entered that code in a kiosk. It printed a small paper with a number on it. You have a seat and listen for your number. When announced it tells you which station to go to. If you have the correct paperwork etc you’re good to go. I was in and out of there in about 10 minutes. It being done by appointment makes the wait time a matter of a couple of minutes.

I’m active duty military who is stationed out of state with a CT ID. I did my research before coming in regarding license renewal and motorcycle endorsement. I came in and the worker had no idea how to help me, yet rudely kept telling me incorrect info. I tried showing her what the DMV website says for my situation but she wouldn’t read it or listen. Safe to say I’m done with CT, after this I’m changing everything over to the state I’m stationed. Incompetent and rude for no reason!

Um I don't know if the security guard knows that it a DMV not a hospital. I guess there is no smoking now on DMV property. And why is the security guard armed, if that's is really necessary then maybe you should fix whatever is making people mad enough to justify him being armed. Besides that actually fast the apartment system works. You still should be able to walk in to at least one of the DMVs though.

Fax: None
Yes you can depend what kind of plate do you have if he's something special let's say like 11:11 you might have to pay for it some money yearly but if it's a regular plate you might just get it for free I hope that my aunt said we help you
I was there on Saturday, basically appointments are required for everything that cant be done online
I think they mail it now
Yes. You have to screw in the plates.
Is there a question about holding a license in another state?
Yes. All services now require an appointment.
If it is still registered to the seller, you can use it because it's a valid reg. Just be careful because the insurance may not cover anything if you had a accident with it. I personally would just play it safe and get a temporary plate.
Sorry, I do not know as I did not utilize the internet for a title transfer.
Call them
Only until noon
Yes! Everything is by appointment only.
No can't use a rental for your license test. They ask for insurance & registration so they will know.
Tyrell is the best there. Was there the last 2 Saturdays due to not having what i needed to register my car. But he wS totally chill about it.
Yes
They adhere to the appointments very strictly, and an attendant checks you in in the parking lot. They do give you a grace period of five or 10 minutes. They only allow one person in the DMV building, no visitors. Outside the building, a nurse checks your temp, has you sanitize your hand, and gives you all the questions about whether you've been out of state, to Europe, Etc . They give you a number, tell you where to sit and, honest to God, the wait is only about 10 15 minutes! You'll think you're in the wrong place it's so painless! Everyone agrees that they should have done this long ago, and most of the counter people seem to feel they will continue to do it this way after Civid is no longer an issue. No kidding though, the appointments are dead serious. If you're late they'll just send you away and tell you to make another appointment. 😅😅😅
Cancel them on the dmv.gov website . No need to turn them in . Just destroy yourself
You have to make an appointment first online. You won't have to stand for long. You stand in line outside for a bit then once you are called in they have you sit a a 6ft social distancing
Check the dmv website
I would call the dealership and see if you can get all the papereork make an appointment and register yourself. I just purchased a truck from Massachusetts, made an appointment with DMV online, took all the paperwork from the dealership and had my truck on the road within a week
When you have the money $$ go online and make appointment to register your Vehicle.
Once you make a appointment then you come to DMV for that scheduled time should not take long as long as your paperwork is done correctly you'll be walking out the door with registration. Go to website CT . Gov/DMV for information
No have to make appointment
Was there taking 4 weeks
I dropped my stuff off on 06/02 and still have not heard back either. They said the average turnaround time is around 20 days, which means realistically it'll take 20-30 days. If you included a check in your envelope you don't need to do anything except wait for your plates to show up in the mail. If you didn't include a check keep your phone on you as you will be called to submit payment. Unfortunately there's absolutely nothing any of us can do right now. Just know that it will be completed at some point. I wouldn't start worrying until you hit the 40 day mark.
No they are not open to the public. They have a drop off box for forms at the old saybrook.it is only till 3 pm.i was there on tuesday .I think the other two days are Wednesday and friday for dripping off forms only.
Not yet
I think you get a partial refund for the unused months. Also, be sure to turn in the plates. DMV will issue a receipt to give to your local tax assessor so you don't continue to pay property tax on the vehicle.
You have to make an appointment online at ctdmv.gov drive only learners permit test .
cs-1 is certificate of driveing class..
Yes! But, get there early with ALL of your required paperwork! Look up what you'll need online first. Not many people double check what's needed.
Check CT DMV.GOV on line. Definitely going to need a clean title, previous state registration, Best to check on line first.
You can find out what doc's you need on line. As for appointment's 🤗😀 you'll wait, get a number (deli market style), have your doc's reviewed and wait your turn like everybody else!!! DMV doesn't discriminate; everyone gets the same treatment!!!😁
And
You may call your closest DMV or try on line .
Call your local AAA or DMV office in Old Saybrook.
To prove residency 2-3 recent utility bills. Phone. Electric. Gas. Credit Card.
Books on are website ctdmv.gov under publications
IF! you have "your act together", research what IS required, follow the posted on-line requirements, it moves very quickly. Most everyone that goes to DMV, are totally lazy and stupidly expecting to have DMV employees do your work for you! If in doubt call Weathersfield, DMV and ask or, GO ON-LINE.!!? Take careful notes and follow the notes. You can do many things " on-line" and never have to go to DMV! It aint rocket science!
Chrissy's Right! She knows!
Yes the doors are closed at 12:30 , however if you have a number and are in the building when we close you will be waited on
Im not sure but I do know you have to go to wethersfield for that
On the new license, if you look upper right hand corner theres a star meaning you are verified because you showed whatever you needed to to verify your identity. Now it can be used for certain things that need to verify your identity with out all the extra paper work.
Yes.
Yes. You’ll need your birth certificate or passport (unexpired), social security card(unlaminated) or 1099, two pieces of mail dated within 90 days from two different sources (it cannot be hand stamped mail).
I think you can do that on line. Check the website.
On license renewals no on registration yes once expired your in violation with the law/police
745 to 4pm
They might be; call and ask
You could do it on line OR, Call to AAA in Old Saybrook.
Did you try to get your stuff done on line? You can also see, on line, what stuff you'll need to be prepared. Renewals of licences and registrations are very easy on line.
Yes, it gets busy quick tho. Arrive early and bring a drink/snack and a book or something to do!
Look it up on line. CT.DMV
Yes!!! it's required.
I do not know. Call or send a txt or email and ask.
Sorry, i have no idea, but if you are going there be early and know for sure that is going to be time consuming. Gook luck.
There are currently 15 customers in line in Norwich. So at least that one is open. Just realized you were asking about old Saybrook. It is open.
I'd call the DMV on that one, they're usually pretty strict about paperwork. He'll need his social security card eventually though, just go to the social security office and get it over with...
If it's expired, you have to go in :-( Read through everything you need, check through it all, make sure your town property taxes are paid, and bring a book/snacks! Good luck!!
Mr rex, you will usually only get comments from other Google users here. I would suggest calling the DMG directly
I would call them and find out. Don't go in until you talk to someone first
