YES. This is a BIG misconception out there. Sea Tow is NEVER included with your boat insurance policy. And a Sea Tow membership will ALWAYS be more comprehensive than towing coverage through your insurance carrier. We like to point out... that without a yellow membership card and/or a yellow sticker on your boat... you DO NOT have a Sea Tow membership and therefore do not have priority service and the rest of the privileges that come with membership. As a non-member you will pay for service by the hour. Industry-wide the average cost of on-water assistance is $850 - $1,000 per incident. Also realize that Sea Tow members get priority service, as a non-member you will likely wait for service.
