an amazing hot spring, the pools were hot! nicely design to have a more rustic feel, our hot springs in AB/BC are very much just pools this was a great experience of what they can be!

Very cool rock formations from the interactions of the lava with the water in the distant past that created agate Jasper and petrified wood along with Pipestone can all be seen as you walk around the different layers going back in time as you go down

Absolutely worth the stop. 2 hours for us was plenty. They rent suits and towels. Restrooms have a dressing area with lockers and showers. Bring your water bottle or purchase on sight. Very clean neat place. Well worth $8 per person admition!

As I recall, for a combination pass, which will permit you a one-time entrance into the hot pools, and also allow an individual entry into the Olympic pool/water slide area, was about $16 per person.
Yes. There is a public hot spring as well as areas by the river across from the main pool. Although they are not intended for "lap" swimming instead are intended to be a relaxing bath and there is no horse play. I believe the deepest pools are about 4 feet deep. If you are looking for a more traditional pool there is one with water slides of the other end of town.
No, there are not any actual picnic areas within the gardens.
The paths are narrow and steep, not standard ADA conpliant, but could be navigated with a smaller wheelchair and an able assistant
Approximately 150 feet East of the entry to the Lava Hot Springs hot pools is a small gateway on the North side of Main St. That is the entry to the Sunken Gardens.
