I want to give it five stars so badly. Cutest location in the universe and great staff! BUT, I couldn't sleep here. The train goes by every hour almost and the highway noise is high..I'm a VERY sound sleeper so I ignored the reviews about that. It kept even me up because we had a dog friendly cabin and it was soooo cute but just loud. I tent camp, so wasn't expecting to be bothered. But something about the location just amplified noise.

Leave the dogs at home. Bring the kids. Not a dog friendly park. Charges extra fees - but no extra amenities. We stayed in a normal pull through site. Very rough and barely tended to sites. Looks like all their efforts are put into the new - many - patios sites. The busy railroad tracks abuck the property. So it’s loud - all the time. Plus the kids running around. If you are an adult only group and enjoy quiet (like us) stay elsewhere. If you have a young family - this place is for you!!!!

Let's start by saying the owners of this KOA have put big money into making sure the sites are well spaced, patios are well planned, and the amenities are endless. Bathhouse is clean and new, basic playground for kids, sites with private dog run areas, laundry is a bit over priced( $2.25 each), and the sites are decently level. The pricing of sites matches the facility. The cons though all the accessible waterfront sites are for 35feet and under. Super sites 15 & 16 will fit a bigger rig with master driving skills for tight turns and trees obstacles. Now these sites with run you $125+ a night, which I would pay for the breath taking views of the mountain and river.... EXCEPT......THE TRAIN AND TRAFFIC NOISE. Oh my gosh yall seriously, I read the reviews and we have stayed at some noisey campgrounds before but the train goes alllllll day and allllll night. It is intolerable. The semi trucks fly buy on the main road which is less than 30 yards from 1st row of pull throughs, and its very noisy. This is not the KOAs fault, and I want to stress this is a beautiful well maintained campground. But you will not get sleep. The middle and back area to the left of the office has no water access or water views so be aware of that when picking a site. They are roomier pullthrough with plenty of space for our big rig and Dually truck to park. Also very easy maneuvering around spots. We also loved taking the walking path along the river and into town to explore. Alot of places are closed do to off season, but the small town offers a few restaurants, ice cream shop and local small grocery with basic needs. Overall we likely wouldn't return based on the train noise.

Loved my stay in the basic camping cabin with the queen and 2 sets of bunk beds, a fridge, microwave, trash can, heating and air conditioning, they also have electricity and a picnic table next to a small fire pit bring own firewood. They have showers and restrooms as well as Laundry facilities a playground and cornhole as well as a dog restroom area. Not too far from this location is the Lava Hot springs foundation world the famous Hot springs if you go there be careful the sidewalks are a little slippery and there is no area for children play and they don't like children playing in the pools and will let you know. In town you can find Mike's market, a Sinclair gas station, waffle shop, the Chuck wagon restaurant, ice cream shop and the Royal hotel & pizzeria, Ace hardware and much more. 20 minutes up the road is the Soda Springs geyser.

It all depends on when you get there. Spring is cold, but summer and fall the river is just right.
