I’m so disappointed. My family and I arrived to the campsite after 10pm. I did see that check in is from 4-10 but I did not expect to be refused access and turned away when I called the help line. The lady I talked to was so rude. I explained to her I had 4 young children in the car. Anyone knows with 4 kids, you don’t PLAN on showing up to your campsite so late but we ran into multiple issues along our trip.The lack of compassion and understanding was unreal. My daughter is a cancer survivor (still not 100%) and I have 2 small toddlers…She told us to go to the nearest truck stop after I practically begged her to please give us the gate code so we could use the reservation we paid for. I was so looking forward to waking up slowly and letting the kids play, instead we slept (or lack there of) all night at a loud truck stop with no electric hook up, so hot with no AC in Georgia in July 🥵😭. It should be made clear on the website or in the reservation confirmation that you will be turned away if you arrive past check in time. Just the complete lack of human compassion, I truly hope if the woman who answered the phone has children one day she is shown more grace than she showed us.

They allow family pets as long as they are on a leash and clean up after them.the park is very pet friendly..take them and enjoy yourself.
Jackson lake was made by Georgia Power not a state park

Even when I was there did not see many sites you could fish from. There is at least 2 docks and at the landing area is a good bit of shore. I liked High Falls better.
This happened a couple years back. Imagine they're draining again.
