Fantastic place to stay with the family. You'll never run out of things to keep everyone busy with the pools, playgrounds, mini golf, gold mining station, bike rentals/trails, kids activities almost every night in the activity center, and The Stables being right there. Shower houses were well maintained and clean. Laundromat was clean and not outrageously expensive, with live music right outside at night. Rent the golf cart but skip taco night.

Great campground for kids and families. There’s a water slide, separate pool, jumping pillow, mini golf, playground (all free), pedal karts for rent as well as horseback riding ($50/hr). They also offer scheduled activities in addition to what I listed. The spaces are a little tight but it wasn’t any worse than anywhere else we have camped this summer. The laundry was clean too. We didn’t use the restrooms much but they seemed okay enough, not immaculate. It’s not remotely quiet during the day but it was fine 11pm-8am.

What a friendly atmosphere, perfect for kids! Plenty of fun things to enjoy, and the pool area is very clean and welcoming. All the mini golf you could ever want. The movies each night were a great way for kids to wind down before bed. We enjoyed the ATV trailhead right outside the campground- super convenient and helped save on gas. The bathrooms (station 5) could have been had better housecleaning. There was often 4-5 workers sent to clean the bathroom/showers but they all sat on their phones; except one female (wish I had her name to give her more credit!!). Definitely recommended if you’re staying with kids and more than 1 night. There is so much to enjoy, you need at least 3 night stay. We stayed 5 nights with Boy Scouts. The kiddos were worn out every night! :) Anita was such a sweet lady, gave a couple of our kids a ride to the campsite because she wanted to give them a ride on her golf cart :) She was my most favorite employee at Mount Rushmore/Palmer Gulch KOA.

The nicest campground I've ever stayed at. There is so much to do and there are plans to add more. Just know that if you are looking for peace and quiet in the woods this isn't the place, but it doesn't claim to be. Overall I very much enjoyed our stay. My daughter is plotting ways to come back with her friends.

Absolutely. We had our 4yr old GSD & 9 mo old rottie. Keep them under control your fine. Fyi. It kind of sucks not being able 2 take pets on trails. People ruin it.
For an extra fee, depending on the size of the camper spot, some KOAs do allow a tent to be set up, but you will need to call them directly to ask, they don't specify that very well on their website.
Forget the phone. Its like trying to call God direct.
I believe it's 3:00, but we got there around 1 and the spot was open. I know checkout time is 11. So wouldn't think you will have a problem.
No. We are staying here at the KOA right now and I just asked the front desk. Kids under 16 do not need a license to fish.
To my knowledge yes, in 2017 we were on the outer trailer loops (only really used when camp ground full like 4th of July)..we had fire ring and table at out site w/ water & electric.
Yes
The Wi-Fi network was terrible. Could not get a connection until we got into the nearest town.
We have stayed there three times with our German Shepherd. No issues.
No, they open in May
They will if they are the same party, seen plenty when i was there.
Sorry, I don't know, but you can call them
You'd have to call, they are extremely busy. I booked a month out.
The cabin I rented had linens but there are "sleeper" cabins that do not offer bedding like in the deluxe cabins do. You will have to find out depending on your budget and what type of cabin you get.
Definitely see sites better than others. Say if you need extra room for slide outs or you want to be near restrooms. Look at web site and as always the early bird gets the worm.
Right at the park. So it depends on how far away your campsite is! 😀
You do have to pay for the horseback riding. You do have to pay a rental fee for golf carts and ATV'S as well as bikes. Although we did not check on the price for horseback riding the other rental were very reasonably priced in my opinion. All others activists were included.
No but go to horseshoe lake up the road trout fishing is great
Don't think so, don't know of any Parks that do that
We were there last week of May and they were work as far as I know.
Crazy horse is about 12 miles
Not sure how much bike rentals are but they have a pool .waterslide basket ball court . all outside games bags etc. Nightly movie . mostly for kids but as an adult with no kids get place to stay . Pancake breakfast .resturants ice cream store horseback riding.
Varies on what type of site you require. Best to go to the koa website or call them.
As long as it is bought in the same county. There are also federal guidelines for firewood transportation. Has to do with the spread of Ash boring beatles that are decimating some ash forests.
6pm
It depends on if youre staying in a tent, rv, or cabin site... $65 - $300+
They rent bikes, quads, cars, but no fishing poles.
Tru
It is 5 miles West of the Monument about 7 mins during daylight a little longer at night as you have to watch for wildlife
I don't know if there are fireworks that you can see. We had our dog with us.
Deluxe cabins have ac as do select mountain cabins and all the executives. The camping cabins do not have ac. Keep in mind that the weather is cooler since the camp is at 5500 feet.
They sell it at their store.
Did you look in the "Grapes & Grinds" shop?
