THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! No hot water. Was told there was an "issue" that has not been fixed yet. Front desk staff told us that the water issue has been going on for weeks now and the current repair company "can't seem to figure it out"! Looked at other reviews before writing my own and 7 months ago another person stated "hot water not working". Had to sign that we will not smoke in the room which is fine, we are not smokers. However, the smell of weed was so pungent we had to hold our breath just to walk through the hallways. Dogs are accepted here which is also fine, however, the dogs seem to run the hotel. Lots of barking at all hours made it very difficult to sleep. Extremely disappointed with our stay. We reserved a room for two nights but due to not having hot water, we checked out a day early and were told by the front desk staff that we would not be charged. We were billed for two nights even though we only stayed one. I called to speak with the manager whom I was told would be calling me to confirm my refund. I have not received a call and when I called the phone just rang and rang and then disconnected. As for our room, it had a horrible smelling air freshner in it, no linens for the hide-a-bed, and again, NO HOT WATER! I would not stay here again even if it were free!

Although the staff was pleasant, bar manager and front desk manager, I am appalled and surprised by the franchise policy of not renting rooms to locals. I just wanted a night to myself, and despite having money/credit cards and willing to pay the fees and incidentals, I was told I could not book a room because I was a “local resident”. To me, this policy seems silly, discriminatory, and left me feeling bad. I have never run into a hotel with the policy and have easily booked rooms at other hotels in town with no issue. I did call corporate and filed a formal complaint, but I think the owner should re-evaluate this policy. Walla Walla is a local driven, small town. Just seems like a bad business practice. The only positive here is the very nice employees who were patient in explaining the strange policy. And to respond to the owner’s response… you are preemptively assuming that any local is going to trash your rooms/ do drugs? How is it that your hotel is the only hotel where I’ve ever seen such a policy?? Do you not have proper insurances in place? As far as displaced housing goes, I’m sorry, but are your front desk attendants trained psychologists as well? How do they determine who needs emergency housing and who doesn’t? Do you really need to put a paying customer through the experience of telling you if they they are in danger/why they might need a place to stay? What if they are scared, nervous, embarrassed? Again, as a hotel you are discriminating and what you are doing is bad business practice.

It's just my luck, I never get a good view when I'm staying somewhere, but I don't blame the hotel. The room is nice, everything you need. Easy work the mini-split unit for heating and cooling or just use as a fan. Staff have been helpful with me, especially when my access key got demagnetized. I haven't had any issues with noise from the area yet. Overall still pretty good.
