We went for our anniversary trip. The only good thing about the hotel was the front desk people (very kind & sweet) and proximity to the wine shops/tasting rooms. Extremely over priced for the quality of service you get. Our bathroom was disgusting. The floor had spills and didn't look like it had been cleaned, ever. The toilet was full of grey streaks. Our bathroom fan did not work, so when we showered the ENTIRE room was filled with condensation and it did not dissipate quickly at all, we had to open our room door to help it along. The restaurant was "meh" for the price. Nothing that special about it. Hattaway's on Alder way INFINITELY better, so go there for delicious food! We filled out our hotel review card and heard nothing back from them. Would DEFINITELY not stay here again. Spend your money elsewhere for sure!

The hotel is beautiful and the service is great, which is why I gave it two stars. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was complimentary and tasted wonderful. However the walls are paper thin and I think I can hear everything going on in the hotel. I can hear my neighbors conversations in their rooms, their phone buzzing, neighbors using the restroom, and there is a constant loud drip sound - it kind of sounds like you’re in an old boat or walking in an older home. It woke me up at 6:30am and had been continuing off and on for hours. I got in late and needed a good night’s rest after a long drive but wasn’t able to get it here. Because of that I would not recommend. Edit: on check out front desk was unprofessional. Will retain two stars because all other staff I met were excellent.

The Marcus Whitman has beautiful classic bones and the feeling of a grand old hotel, but it’s just a little tired in places. The decor is elegant and dark, there’s a nice fireplace in the public lounge, but elaborate flower arrangements in the lounges are fake, the rooms are a bit sparse, and the amenities are lacking (no room service or working vending machines). Our very pricy “junior business suite” turned out to be a ground floor room overlooking the parking lot at the end of a long hallway containing the workout room. It was nothing special - just a bigger room with two uncomfortable armchairs. The bathroom does merit a good note - wonderful towels and soaps and lotions, and the bed was comfortable enough. Complimentary breakfast is a good perk, and it’s a typical decent American hotel breakfast, but nothing fresh or fancy. The staff were gracious and professional, but overall I think some basic modernization of decor and amenities would make this better value for the price.

This hotel has amazing service and beautiful rooms. Additionally when we informed the staff that my fiancé and I were here as a get away prior to our wedding the desk clerk (I think his name was Josh) upgraded us to a spa suite and gave us drink coupons. Highly recommended. We most definitely will return if we ever want a get away.

Thank you for asking. The hotel does not have a dress code for the Marc Restaurant, or Vineyard Lounge.
There is a wine list in the restaurant, which is quite good, and several tasting rooms that open into the lobby
