I have received two statements from my insurance company for care provided at this clinic. I have never been to this clinic. In fact, I'm not even a veteran. I am not surprised based on what I've read about the VA and family members negative experiences. I will be filing a complaint with the Inspector General for fraud.

Why the reviews on this Fort Meade VA clinic are so discussing? Is this for real or just a bad day for veterans? What's going on at this clinic?
Kris Crites
Long wait for appointments, only to have Dr not put in referrals she said she would. Additionally, notes for my appointments are factually incorrect, often the exact opposite of what was discussed. Attempted to contact the Patient Advocate, with no return calls.

Mr. Hill, We have begun administering the COVID-19 vaccine to enrolled Veteran patients based on CDC designated priority groups. Currently, enrolled Veterans 65 years of age or older are qualified to receive the COVID-19 vaccine based on supply availability. Veterans do not need to call and request the vaccine because they will be notified when they are eligible and provided the instructions on how to schedule an appointment. As a reminder, only Veterans who are enrolled with the VA Maryland Health Care System are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. If you are not enrolled, please visit our website at www.maryland.va.gov and click on "Become a Patient" and follow the instructions on how to apply for enrollment. Thank you. VA Maryland Health Care System
The Baltimore VA Medical Center, a division of the VA Maryland Health Care System, is one of 37 VA sites that received a limited supply of the initial doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The medical center was selected for its ability to vaccinate large numbers of people and store the vaccine at extremely cold temperatures. The vaccine is first being provided to front-line VA health care workers, Veterans residing in long-term care units and inpatients with spinal cord injuries. As vaccine supplies increase, additional Veterans will be contacted and scheduled to receive the vaccine based on factors such as age, existing health problems and other considerations that increase the risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19. Veterans do not need to call and request the vaccine since they will be contacted and scheduled based on the CDC designated risk factors as vaccine supplies increase. Thank you. VA Maryland Health Care System
Ms. Liggett, Due to COVID-19, we are recommending that Veteran patients get a free flu shot at a community pharmacy that is a part of the VA network, which includes the following: CVS Safeway Costco Walmart Kroger Wegmans (Walgreens is NOT participating this year) To be eligible for this benefit, you must have received care from the VA in the past 24 months. No appointments or referrals are required to get a free flu shot at a community pharmacy that is part of the VA network, but please call the pharmacy before visiting to ensure they are participating. Please inform the pharmacy that you are a Veteran and show them your VA Veterans Health Identification Card. Also. For more details, visit www.maryland.va.gov. Thank you. VA Maryland Health Care System
There is not a VA Pharmacy at the Fort Meade VA Outpatient Clinic, but your VA primary care provider at the clinic can provide an initial supply of most of your medications until you start receiving your prescriptions in the mail. Thank you. VA Maryland Health Care System
Mr. Dickens, if you need to schedule an urgent appointment, please call the Telephone Care Line Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1-800-865-2441. To schedule a regular appointment, please call the Appointment Center at (410) 605-7333. Thank you. VA Maryland Health Care System
You can get a VA card at this facility. I would call ahead a time and ask, as often their machine is down.
