This resort is beautiful! After having undergone extensive renovations (which are still continuing!!) recently the atmosphere of Westgate is really wonderful! The one bedroom condo is beautifully appointed with a king bed, a huge jetted tub, and a kitchen! My fiance and I have booked our block of rooms here for our upcoming wedding and we are very excited about offering this opportunity to our family and friends next year! They already have beautiful pools and a great grilling area but they have plans to expand their available green space into more activities which I am really excited about sharing with family! I love the fact that they allow you to bring your dog! Not something many resorts offer and although it is pricey it's very worth it to us for a multiple night stay to have our baby with us! I highly recommend you take a moment to visit, especially if you are planning a wedding!

Don't buy! Never become an owner. They lie and give you different rooms than they say you're buying. They always say they're booked but you can stay if you pay a rate as a non owner. There's no parking, and when I have a disability I was put in a room with stairs, no handicap spots, and the elevator was not working. When I brought this up at check in with my designated concierge he wouldn't call anyone about any of it and said I could only talk to a manager if my husband was present and went through their upgrading timeshare thing (which takes a day). Then had the audacity to tell me they have rules. I guess they just don't have standards or ethics. I am an owner too, not just my husband. I guess the have an issue talking to Latina women that they would only talk to my white husband. Get a lawyer and get out.

The room is very nice and the bed is comfy. Location of hotel is good. The room was very chilly though and never warmed up even though we put the thermostat all the way up to 80, when we woke up the cool air was still blasting through the room. My boyfriend called the front desk to ask for a late check out (check out is at 10am! He asked for 11 or 11:30) so we could take long hot showers before we leave. First his call was transferred to our hotel room because they didn’t understand what he was asking. Then Cassandra at the front desk picked up and gave him all kinds of attitude right off, he asked if she could ask a manager about it and Cassandra rudely told him he got his late check out in the nastiest tone as if we had put her out personally somehow. She needs to go somewhere with that attitude and chill out, other than those couple of things it was a good stay !!

We stayed for three nights in one of the suites. We enjoyed the location of the resort and check in and check out were quick and easy. The room had stainless steel appliances, but the furniture could be updated, the couch was very lumpy and not that comfortable. We slept comfortably and liked that the living and bedrooms had ceiling fans. The bathroom was great with lots of space. Washer and dryer worked fine. That said, I truly can’t recall the last time I paid for wifi at a hotel and this hotel has no free wifi in the rooms. There is a heated outdoor pool and hot tub though we did not use them. I would stay here again and recommend it.

No real beach nearby. About an hour and 15 from beach. So in Texas it is close.
