Great proximity to Busch Gardens. Downtown Williamsburg is also very close and definitely worth the drive in. Great breakfast selection. Rooms were fine- updated but you can see where shortcuts were taken. Perfectly comfortable and clean place to stay, but not aesthetically pleasing, if that’s what you’re looking for.

I will begin my review by stating I have traveled all over the world and stayed at many establishments and have never had one attempt to charge my credit card in full before my arrival. This one did. Then contacted me about 6 hours later to tell me that I did not have a valid card on file and if not corrected within a few hours my reservation would be canceled. I am on the highway making over a four hour drive mind you. The general manager insisted this was necessary to insure I was going to show up, even though I told him I was already in route. After being forced to give the information required, I show up at the Country Inn & Suites that has definitely used filters on the pictures posted to their website. My mistake for assuming there is standard for all of the hotels in this chain. I thought this one would be like the others I have stayed at, but it is far from it. Stains on carpet in hallway, along with strange odor. Walls so thin you hear doors slam and conversations in rooms nearby. Towels so thin, glad I bought my own. Several rust spots in bathroom. I took pictures to show. Drain was closed in sink, never could get it open. I also have never been in an elevator in which the certificate of safety aren't posted. Is that legal? In response to owners reply. We have never spoken by phone. Please get your facts correct. And if my card was invalid, reservation would have never been accepted to begin with a month ago. I left the hotel almost 5 hours ago and still have not received a receipt by email, that is customary the procedure at hotels I do business with. You addressed the credit card & sign in elevator but nothing else about below standard issues in my room.

I wish I could give this hotel no stars …. We have a little dog so we were trying to find a pet friendly hotel during our stay at Williamsburg. This is the one that came up as the best reviewed hotel that allowed pets and so I booked it. When we checked in, the room they gave us was overall dirty and gave you that grungy feeling. The room looked like it had not even been cleaned from the past guest as there were several pieces of croutons on the floor and the beds had yellowish stains and there was hair from past guests on the beds. We always lift the mattresses up to check for bed bugs and when we lifted the one mattress up there were black splotches and yellow stains and there were even several red blood stains on the sheets. We called the front desk and asked to be moved to another room and so we packed up and moved to another room on the first floor. When we got to that room, the beds still had the discolored, dirty, yellow faded stains on them and there was dirt and an old toiletries bottle under the sink in the bathroom that room service didn’t bother to get from the previous guests. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been updated in years and there were cob webs up above the light fixture in the bathroom. It was past midnight and so we just slept on top of the covers and left all our clothes on. This was by far the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever been in. Will not be staying in a country in and suites by raddison ever again!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The location was excellent, close to downtown and very close to Bush Gardens. The man at the front desk was very kind, proactive and made the check-in very fast and easily. The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was simple but good. The Parking was free and the check-out process was easy. Just that the elevator was too old. They checked us into a room that was dirty, smelled macaroni&cheese, the bed was still warm. Terrible for the first sight, that room clearly just had been used. We asked for another room and they got us one thankfully close to this one (We had a lot of bags), on the same floor, and was very clean. The a/c was very noisy, we kept waking up all night. It was dark and gloomy even with the lights on. We missed a light bulb on top of the mini kitchen area. Overall a good stay and I recommend it.
