Love this shelter. bravo!!!

Our dog Rocco has been missing for a week now and he was dropped off at Sun Valley Animal Shelter. The staff at this shelter took their time and went the extra mile to browse and see if he belonged to someone and they came across my Craigslist post. They have reunited us with Rocco and the compassion they showed us and the care they offered to our pet is beyond what i hoped for. This staff is God sent. I will forever be grateful. And a special Thank you to Ashley she stayed late after closing so I could pick up my pup. I wish there was more people like her in the world. We need more Ashleys.. she walked me through my pups treatment plan and even got him microshipped. I have nothing but love for this facility! Thank you Sun Valley Animal Shelter!

Very cute place & atmosphere - less animals than expected given size though

Great that vet and support group up front. Very helpful good advice.

Good Luck I hope you can volunteer here they're the best!
Pls provide particulars. Friendly? House broken? How old? Health issues? Looking to adopt
I have been taking care of a family of cats for while now, the family has grown to over 20. I have had some fixed, I can not afford it any more and physically I am afraid I going to trip, I am 70 and losing my balance. I have been told to just quit feeding them, maybe there right but I also think its cruel. I am in debt and can not afford the fee for surrender, What do i do?
Hi Sabrina, I volunteer there twice a week and walk, play with and love on the dogs. If you go on the website you will find a volunteer app that you can submit to them and they will email you back if they are accepting new volunteers, which I'm sure they are. They are really busy.
I volunteer with the shelter and they confirmed that they will accept the open dog food.
If they don't take the kitten you can take it to halo it's a animal rescue shelter they might even go to get it. I hope the kitty is ok
The shelter was full and a friend of mine helped me get them into their forever homes
I would be surprised if the shelter takes them. You may want to go into PetSmart and ask if they know of any foster group that may help you. They have groups that have adoptions there. Another thought is to try going to a couple of veteranarians and see if they know of anyone that may help you. Good luck.
You can but it's not a walk in and drop off kind of thing they meet with you and the dog to determine if they can help or not! Good luck have you tried any rescues?
Yes
Our thrift store shut down on Aug 31. You can try calling the shelter and see if they need them
They were not nice to my sister. I feel because she was older they wouldn't let her up the cat she wanted. Sad day.
Call the shelter directly to see if they have available space if they done try calling 4 paws rescue in peoria they only shelter cats
We don't have any rabbits, gerbils or small animals. We only have cats and dogs.
Are you asking me? Or Sun Valley Animal Shelter?
No, they have both cats and dogs.
Wow, I would call the animal shelter near u and get that dog treated, immediately
No, they will sadly to say, probably, have to put them to sleep. We have to remember that veterinarians run a business. They just don't have the staff to bottle feed them. and quite honestly cats turn out to be a liability I would think from my experience cats that are bottle-fed have very lousy temperaments and are hard to adopt out.
Yes they do. They rehome animals. All are healthy with their shots up to date. They take excellent care of the critters.
Go to the shelter and talk to them
I would call them and express your interest and ask them how to go about be a volunteer. They will give you all the information how to become a volunteer.
Call and see if they have room before going over, but they do take cats and dogs. They're not open on Sunday.
I have visited this place the dogs are well groomed and maintained well. A little pricey on the adoption fees for me but all on all a good place to go to help save a doggo
Yes you should be able to. If you call ahead and let them know so they can prepare or let you know how many they can take, would be nice for everyone, and easier for everyone.
The hours very, they work with your schedule.
Yes they will I found 2 last month and they took them in
I'm not looking for a cat. You can contact the center and ask them if they want them
Sun Valley they will only put a dog down if it is sick or injured where you cannot repair it.
You should call ahead. Not all shelters take every breed/animal. I see a lot of pits and pit mixes at the Az Humane Society. They are no kill and have an excellent foster program.
You have to call. They have limited space.
Go there and tell them you are interested in volunteering, they will give you a form to fill and talk to you about times and day and ask why you are interested in volunteering. That is basically it, you should know at that time by the time you leave there.
I don't believe it's possible, th ere is an age limit. Give them a call
I would also check with Arizona Humane Society. I think they can assist with trapping if you call them.
I would contact the shelter directly for an answer.
Phx animal hospital can help
If they dont need them ,you can bring to their thrift shop in Peoria and they sell them and use the money for the animal care. Towels are always needed, also cleaning supplies.
Call them as they are selective on what animals they take. Good luck!
I don't think so as they are a no kill facility
As far as I know they are a no-kill shelter.
Young town has a place by the post office that I know of. Just for cats. Thanks for helping the furies from the heat
I agree with Sherry. You can ask at pet smart for the name of a foster group that you can donate to. Usually the groups have dogs at petsmart on the weekend and you can hand them off to them. Sun Valley is very picky on what they take. Also the Sun City Rec Center has a bin in the bowling alley for pet donations . They take all pet items. They are located next to the frys store on RHJ Blvd.Im so sorry for your loss, I know how difficult it is to lose a beloved fur baby.
You need to call them as they are very selective on what they will take. Good luck!
I would call the shelter and see if they have him.
Really, they can't tell me over the phone first, l hate driving there only to find out they don't have any.
No this place does not except if you found a pet unfortunately 😔 call them it will shock you on what they say 😠
John I took my dog there and the cost was 180.00. We asked for the remains though.
You should call them and find o ut. If they dont maybe they can refer you
Yes often it's just a question of spaying or neutering. Also please chip your pet, this way you can get it home safely when found. I had a female little beagle, that was too young too be spayed , so while waiting for her to get to that age.She ran out the door and there was the neighbors little Romeo namedBo Jangles waiting outside , and they ran off into the sunset together needless to say I became the grand parent of 9 brand new puppies.. You can call the humane society to see if they can recommend a low cost neutering clinic. I don't know if they still do it but they use to have mobile units go to different areas of AZ and spay and neuter free. Altered Tails in Phoenix is very reasonable. Just Google low cost neutering , and you should get more info. Good Luck
Most animal shelters appreciate donations and will take dog food and food-related items best to bring unopened bags but I've seen where they take damaged bags of dog food as far as petting animals and things of that nature I would contact so particular shelter and find out their policy
Must contact them from what I seen in Google reviews the last time some one wanted to volunteer it wasn't pretty . Have to just call .
You will need to call them cause one if there is room second as far as I know they only take full breed of dog
Do you have to make an appointment
You will need to contact them on that info one question you can ask to make sure she is not put down is what are there policy on time frames às to if they rotate and send to a shelter or pound if they are not adopted. In a certain amount of time.
It is best to go there to see ASAP. However I would call first thing tomorrow last I was aware the pets there are rescues from County . They dont take pets directly off the street or surrenders
Yes
18, my daughter wanted to but she's a year too young.
All adoption info please contact them
I'm not sure what options Sun Valley has, but if they cannot help and you want to adopt there are a few local rescues that may help. I know a few but don't want to promote them on Sun Valley's page
You need to call them.
I bet the dogs would love that.
Call Arizona animal control they send dispatchers out .Sun Valley does not pick up stray / lost dogs.
No
They won't take them, they will refer you to Maricopa Animal Care Center and there is a fee
Which gender are you allergic to?
I'd be surprised if they were not delighted. We run a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue for abandoned kittens and ANY help we get is greatly appreciated.
no
You'll want to call ahead and check. Most shelters are completely full as kitten season never ended from last year due to warm weather.
NO But Iam looking for a American cocker spaniel MIKE
Depends on age of dog/cat & how long they've been there. Go in & look at them & find out for the specific animal. Or call.
Today is the 3rd of may! I just found a husky exactly like the one described!
There is an adoption fee and fees for shots in some cases like puppies that need some boosters.
They dont do boarding
Oh, the shelter! Sorry, I thought you we aking about the animal hospital. I'm not sure. The best thing would be to call them. They are closed until Tuesday, and open at 11am.
The office call is $25.00.
Call the Humane Society.
1) Go in and ask for an application during their visiting hours. Make sure you have a good amount of time (30 minutes at least, and up to an hour ), if you plan on filling out the application there. 2) Fill out the application 3) From there, there's an interview and a volunteer orientation Right now they don't have a Volunteer Coordinator ( Went to finish her education ), so it might be a bit different, but definitely do step one, and it'll work itself out. Source: personal experience
If you go to the shelter’s Facebook page all of the adoption photos are posted on the there
The only place able to accept strays in Maricopa County is Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. Even the Humane Society will not accept healthy strays. They can accept injured or hurt strays but Maricopa has it set up where there is only one open intake facility and they follow a strict protocol and hold all strays for 3 days while trying to find he owner before placing them up for adoption.
Hello Pam. I'm not sure if your question was answered, but if you check their website, they usually have a list of available, furbabies. Hopefully you find your best friend.
A veterinarian.
Sun Valley Animal shelter hours are Tuesday-Sunday 11am-4pm, and closed on Mondays. If you are interested in adopting an animal you fill out an application and sit down with an adoption counselor for an interview. Generally, animals do not go home the same day with you.
No what kind of dog is he. I'm looking for a dog
I don't think they would have a problem with that. You might want to bring your school ID just in case. Good luck with your school project.
Sun Valley is a small non-profit no kill animal shelter with limited space. Your best bet to see if they have any available space is to call the facility itself and you can be directed from there.
SVAS will not be open to the public on Black Friday. It will reopen to the public on Saturday
You should search: "pet boarding" in Google search engine.
What kind of pups?
pug pomeranian and chihuahua mix
I was just there last week and they are not accepting animals at this time.
This isn't the place to ask unless you want the answer weeks after they are gone. Call them up or stop by and take a look. They have a nice little play area where you can play with a puppy if you're thinking of adopting it.
