Questions & Answers

Can you keep the fish that you catch,or is it catch and release only? I want to find a good fishing spot that I can also keep the fish

Dianhya Obonaga | Oct 11, 2020
Tanner Torres | Oct 11, 2020

So Spring Creek Park does have a river/Creek running through the very back of it. But I think you would be hard pressed to catch anything in it. It's not monitored at all and heavely wooded where you will be fishing so no one will bother you if you wanna keep a fish or two.

Is this the same park opened in the 1950s where we would go swimming

Helen Mills | Oct 12, 2017
Mariasol Reece | Oct 12, 2017

My father just shared some fond memories from back in the late 1950's about spending summers swimming and playing there with his family and friends along side the boy scout troops that earned their badges there. Him, his 6 siblings, friends and family would swim in an open area off the creek, which is no longer there unfortunately, swimming in the creek is not allowed anymore. Perhaps it has something to do with the rather large alligators they have caught there in the past. This was also a regular stop for some of the Trail Riders that came through Tomball/Magnolia area. I also grew up here and my kids have enjoyed this park, many great memories. Spring Creek park is one of the nicest parks in North Houston. A free park with a healthy natural environment combined with amenities like the 2 age ranked play structures for the children, a large Pavillion with lots of sitting for a large gathering, 3 bathrooms buildings, a tennis court as well as a new (free) Archery range.
