Very pretty.

Umm cannot really call this a castle. On top of that it is used for the ticket office to go to the statue and Ellis island. This means there is virtually nothing about this "castle" and you cannot learn anything. That being said it is still cool to have a quick look around while you wait for the ferry to take you to the statue and Ellis Island.

Yes, and very good!
The museum is closed to the public for now due to COVID. The museum is pretty small though, so unless you plan on talking to a park ranger, the museum itself is about a 10 minute visit.
I found this: "The free CastleGarden.org database, provided online by the New York Battery Conservancy, allows you to search by name and time period for immigrants who arrived in Castle Garden between 1830 and 1890." Hope that helps! Although a bunch of records were destroyed in a fire, so you might not find what you're looking for.
I recommend you ask the staff there.
Clinton? (Mayor DeWitt Clinton)
In the immigrants Museum at Ellis Island there is an Office with all the digitaized registers of the immigrants that entered through it...
