My father just shared some fond memories from back in the late 1950's about spending summers swimming and playing there with his family and friends along side the boy scout troops that earned their badges there. Him, his 6 siblings, friends and family would swim in an open area off the creek, which is no longer there unfortunately, swimming in the creek is not allowed anymore. Perhaps it has something to do with the rather large alligators they have caught there in the past. This was also a regular stop for some of the Trail Riders that came through Tomball/Magnolia area. I also grew up here and my kids have enjoyed this park, many great memories. Spring Creek park is one of the nicest parks in North Houston. A free park with a healthy natural environment combined with amenities like the 2 age ranked play structures for the children, a large Pavillion with lots of sitting for a large gathering, 3 bathrooms buildings, a tennis court as well as a new (free) Archery range.
No ma'am, this is right off of Brown Road and 249.
Not really a swimming area. More for hiking, biking, tennis archery and big to little picnics. But, it is one of the nicest parks I've been to and I've been to a lot of them throughout the US.
Thank you for the information!
