Hi there Erin!! Dogs are not allowed at Morrison Springs. There is a sign posted at the very front. Just to re-verify I just called the park myself and was told again that dogs are not allowed. They allow service dogs. Service animals are “dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities,” according to the Revised Americans with Disabilities Act Service Animal Requirements. This does not include emotional support animals. Emotional support animals are not service animals.

I would imagine weekends to be much busier on average. With the cool water Im sure August is packed. Pick a weekday to be safe.

"No" is the posted answer but as with just about anywhere, if you're clever, smart and covert about it (i.e., nondescript cup/bottle, don't make a spectacle of urself, keep alcoholic bottles/labels/identifiers in vehicle) then it wouldn't be an issue, I'm sure. Not like they're going around with breathalyzers at the least populated Spring in Ponce!

Morrison Springs - Florida's Springs is a park. should be open on Sunday. I know it was in March. Sometimes it floods. So, check if Caryville is below 6 1/2 feet good to go. Excellent for scuba diving, snorkeling, or just having fun.

Google search Choctawhatchee river level in Carryville. The spring runs into the river and is usually clearest at 4 to 6 ft river reading and floods out around 8 or 9 ft.

We went yesterday and it was "tea" colored, but not dirty. We dove down about 3 feet or so near the cave and it was clear there. Up the road at Ponce De Leon It was all clear.

It was murky brown. Also had some trash in the water.

Super clear we went snorkeling a couple of weeks ago. You can see the bottom no problem.

Anything you want or need you take with you, you need to get there early. It's really crowded on the weekend so if you can go during the week it would be better

There is a place called cypress springs in Florida. Rental kayaks there and it's called Snaggy bend. Google it Facebook it also.

Likely muddy water with all the recent rain. Best to go during a drought. In extreme rain bacteria levels get too high too swim.

Rain can affect the clarity of the springs. Maybe clear after the recent afternoon storms, but maybe not.

Little late responding, but we went a week or 2 ago and it was as close to black as u can get, and it had high bacteria levels also right now unfortunately😔

Its free and it is. Better than vortex or ponce de leon springs which both cost and are crowded with tourist. Morrisons is were the locals go.
