Overall, decent park. Not many competitors, but if we knew vortex springs rv park included the park passes in their prices we would have stayed there. This place is clean & there was a pig wondering the site. Pig seems friendly, bit 1 ladies rearend, but he has no teeth. We heard gun shots in distance. Oh & dollar general is in walking distance if you forget anything. Now for the -2 stars. We used an entire day working on our RV power cord. We have a brand new 2019 Stryker toy hauler that we've used probably <15 times. We've hooked up to generators, all levels of RV sites & never had an issue with our plug. Well the power outlet kept tripping & we couldn't figure out why, even when a/c was on low & nothing else was ran. So husband contacted office. They sent out owners father & he said OUR PLUG burnt up their power outlet. See this is hard to believe considering it's the outlet producing the power 🤔 so my husband had to rush to defuniak springs & hit every possible place to find a replacement RV cord. He couldn't, but he bought a replacement male end to go to the 50amp plug cause 30amp was now fried. After spending hours splicing & rewiring what WAS a brand new cord, in the pitch dark (no power w/ out a cord to plug camper up) we finally had power again & were running the remaining days on this repaired cord. We were not offered any discount for our added expenses, time lost, baring the heat without ac, or useless day we paid for working on something their faulty outlet caused.

A comfortable home style campground, the gravel roads were pretty rough on the exit, but do able, and the sites were nice and level, I was on gravel this time not concrete, but barely noticed (they have both) they also have wonderful flowers planted on either side, that made it even more lovely and lights at the ends of the sites on the numbers. All and all, a good experience, with nice people, the campground felt safe and secure. There are a few very long-term campers there but they keep the grounds neat and clean. Usually I have more photos to share but spent most of my time running back and forth to work, lol May try to stay here again if I get out in the area... I would have liked to relax more and actually seen more of the sites locally. They also have a very nice Pavilion that I didn't get a chance to see up close... Sad that i was jerked away early by work...but that's life.

The sites were numbers well. It wasn't overcrowded while we were there so we had plenty of space to ourselves. There was a level area for our tent. Bathrooms had a shower in each. They even had a pavilion (where bathrooms are located) with chairs, tables, and TV's that provided outlets if needed. There were also washers and dryers available. We also witnessed the bathrooms and pavilion getting cleaned while we were there, which was nice to see. The only thing we would say needs improvement is a dumpster or place for trash. We never saw a place for trash so we had to keep it in our trunk until we left. There may have been one available but it was not obvious nor noted in the rules that were emailed.

I wish I could give 10 stars. First, management is excellent. When I first pulled in my shore power breaker wasn’t working, so immediately the owner came over and replaced it. Then it’s quiet, quiet for two days, it was perfect. I could not hear any I-10 traffic. The highway is not visible from the campground either which is nice. There are some local stores if grocery items are needed.
