We are from out of State. How do you know when it's clear, and when it's muddy? Just trying to plan a visit. Thanks in advance.

Google search Choctawhatchee river level in Carryville. The spring runs into the river and is usually clearest at 4 to 6 ft river reading and floods out around 8 or 9 ft.

It's hard to know as it can change from day to day. If it's been raining vis on the surface to 15 feet down might not be great. Vis near the mouth of the spring is usually good all of the time due to the fresh water constantly coming up from the spring.
