Wrong. Just because of this water temp does not mean there are no alligators. Please do not comment if you do not know what you are talking about
Gator's prefer murky water so their prey cannot see them, they can therefore sneak up on them. Water temp does not affect them for short periods of time. If they were there you'd see them if you were the first to arrive, they don't like crowds so they'll slip into the water where it's too cold to hide long and they creep into the backwaters and crawl out to heat up in the sun on logs and sand bars. If they didn't they'd chill down until their motor functions slow and things get weird. Stay in the clear water and away from the backwood swamps and pools. If you are worried, bring a small dog.
No, the water is too cold.
No there is no alligators
None that we saw. We did see fish and a water snake.
The water is 68°. Too cold for them. And if a crazy one showed up, you'd definitely see it coming in that crystal clear water.
Didn't see any, very doubtful tho. Even if there are, you'd definitely see em coming! The water is crystal clear; u can see all the way to the bottom!
Those of you that think the water is too cool need to check out Silver Springs! Gators/Crocs (?) Everywhere!!!!
