Our daughter lived at Iconic Village in Denton for her last year of college. When we first arrived to move her in, we wished we could cancel the lease and find another place, but that wasn't possible. The apartment was very dirty (even though it was supposed to have been cleaned). There were coffee spills on the counter, dead roaches in the cabinets, and even food debris on the carpet. Since she had to live somewhere and classes were going to start, and she had already signed the lease, we had no choice but to scrub the place and move her in. There were many cabinets where the doors didn't shut, the drawers in the kitchen didn't open or close very well. The front door lock was very sticky. One of the beds didn't have a "foot" so it was lopsided. Many, many issues. We complained to the office staff - which didn't really help. Although they did give me the property managers email and she sent someone over to steam clean the carpets two days later. (Our daughter said they didn't do a very good job). While our daughter and her friend lived there, they filed numerous maintenance reports. Some were handled OK, others were not. They did get a new dishwasher because theirs didn't work. But when they complained of leaking in the bathroom wall, the maintenance person just plugged the hole, but they could still hear the leaking behind the wall. So, I imagine it's full of mold now. So, now fast forward to moving out. Our daughter moved out about two months before her lease was up. She cleaned the apartment and her roommate sublet her half. We kept contacting the staff asking about our damage deposit and we didn't get ANY response after sending 3-4 emails. Finally, I called and talk to someone who said it would be mailed. Two weeks later, we still hadn't received the check. I called again and AGAIN was told it was being mailed. Still no check. I called again and got someone who was intelligent who told me that only the manager, Elizabeth, could mail a check out. So, I called Elizabeth. She told me she would look into it and would call me back. I didn't hear for a while so I emailed her. Still didn't hear so I called again. She said we weren't getting our deposit back we actually owed money! Which was ludicrous since we did ALL the cleaning of the apartment at both ends and there was no damage except what the maintenance people caused by not maintaining the place. I asked to speak to someone higher than her and she said she would have her boss call me. Guess what? I NEVER EVER heard from him and we NEVER EVER got our deposit back. So, please, save yourself a lot of trouble and do not live here.

Do not live at Crash Pads II. First problem was right after my bf and I signed a lease. Apparently we missed some signatures on a few pages so we constantly had to go back and forth to the office just to sign it. We've had a cockroach problem ever since we moved in. The exterminator has come by 4 times. It's helped, but it's still pretty bad. I've told the front office multiple times to have the exterminator come by every week until it's gone. Well he has skipped twice now and I brought it up to the office. They said the exterminator "has a habit of overlooking things." Well if it's been a problem then address that! There's no excuse for miscommunication like that. I cannot wait to move out so I don't have to deal with this infestation anymore. Also, the carpet was not cleaned when we moved in. There was pet hair all over the staircase carpet from the previous tenant and it was also all over the apartment. Hairballs everywhere. It was disgusting. And the A/C filter had not been changed when we moved in, so we spent 2 weeks with the A/C constantly running because the air would not cool down. They took forever to come by and change it. Turns out the A/C was frozen. My electric bill was almost $200 as a result. Also, another problem is leaks. Every time the toilet is flushed upstairs it leaks through the roof and drips down onto the stove. The apartment itself is really cute and spacious, but they fail to maintain this place. They always take FOREVER to empty out the trash full of dog poop. Sometimes its overfilled and it stinks so bad. Get your crap together, guys.

I love my apartment! I love how it is pet friendly and how nice the staff is! When I had a bug problem, they got Terminex out right away! However, I placed a work order at the same time and it has still not been completed--I understand that parts may need to be ordered, but it is nice to get communication back. I do wish there was actually grass on the property though, so my dogs don't have to use the bathroom in mud/gravel. Overall, I am glad I chose to live here so far.

Meh, It was an okay place when I moved here but it has gradually gotten worse with new management. Although they promote a "$40 Cap" I've had electricity bills over $120 and no I don't leave the lights on and I even turn off the AC when I leave. You'll see if you move there. Staff is cool. My apartment was leaking from the ceiling (apparently this is a common thing) and it took them 2 months to fix it. Those 2 things are the only real issues I've had with this place. Very dog friendly and decent location. Even though it looks "sketch" at night time I've walked around at am and was completely safe. It's a good place that could be great.
