What was once Gainesville’s gem (as far as hotel options) has fallen so far from the top that it’s almost unrecognizable. From booking to checkout, almost every aspect of staying here was filled with issues. And while most of the people that work there are kind and begging for better management, you definitely get the sense that the way this hotel is being managed is one of cost-cutting, mistakes, and lack of concern. From the lack of any recognition for Ambassador status (and a huge mess-up prior to arrival related to an upgrade), I had hoped the issues stopped there. Unfortunately, they continued well into the trip. Instead of having shampoo, soap, and conditioner in the shower, two containers of conditioner were installed and I had to get that fixed the first night. Additionally, the fan inside the bathroom was broken, and I brought it up every night and each morning and was told it would “get fixed” every. single. time. As you may have guessed, in fact nothing was fixed, despite maintenance coming into my room what I’m guessing was several times. As such, every morning, the room filled up with humidity and it was seemingly unhealthy to be in with no venting of the moisture. To make matters worse, I planned on having dinner on my last night there at the bar, and naturally, the person that apparently works all of food and beverage “called out” and I couldn’t order any food or drinks and was effectively dismissed to order Door Dash. Whilst this isn’t meant to be a complaint, I do hope this is a somewhat humbling review (from an Ambassador) to the management of this hotel to quickly realize that as the options continue to expand in the Gainesville hospitality market, the AC’s “location” won’t save it from its demise unless some serious changes start to take place from the top down.

Just so everyone is aware the pool is 3ft deep and very small, there is no microwave in the room and you can only get a late check out according to your member status why would I want to be a member of someplace that treats someone different to be a member, not everyone cares to take the time out of their day to "become a member" Soo why treat someone different. My money spends the same way and I sure have spent a lot at this judgy hotel! Also parking is $30 a day no other option. Little do they know my son will be attending UF and me and my family will be visiting often as we live 4 hours away sooo don't tell me I will get better service If I'm a member it's not professional at all and I will make sure my friend's and family take our business elsewhere!

FYI for those looking to book. They don't provide room servicing unless you ask. They seem to claim it's still b/c of COVID protocol in May 2022. The Downtown Hampton Inn and several other local hotels of similar quality do provide room cleaning, fresh towels, etc, including every other Marriott I've recently visited. At full price, above rates of other surrounding hotels in the area, it should be an expectation. Here's the actual response from the hotel when asked about this. You be the judge on sincerity: "We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for you. Our hotel just recently started service again per Marriott. Every hotel is a little different and we are just following the policy Marriott has given our specific hotel. When booking on Marriott.com it does let you know that some services may be unavailable. If you need any items replaced please let us know and we can gladly do that for you. Have a great evening and thank you for choosing AC Hotel Downtown Gainesville!" I'll be following up with Marriott Corporate to ensure blame has been appropriately placed as they claim.

Very disappointing for the price you pay. They refused to clean my room, even though I was their for 4 nights. No hand cream in the rooms. Don't drink the lemon water in the breakfast area. I realized that the 4 days I was their the water stayed over night and the tank never cleaned out. Hotel in placed centrally so that is good.
