This place is tucked way back in, you have to take seasonal roads to get to it. There are some wonderful hiking trails and 4 tent campsites that can be reserved. Two of them were right on the water, I believe the other two are as well but we couldn't take the trail due to nesting eagles. It's also a dark sky preserve, so it's probably gorgeous at night.

This place is a true Michigan gem. It's lovingly cared for, wild, and scenic. Great swimming in many areas. The back country campsites are spectacular. They are primitive and remote.... Expect to carry in or filter water from the lake, use a vault privie with no roof, and either hang your food from a bear pole or use a bear box (both are provided) . Be prepared to cut (down and dead) firewood if you're camping.... Bring a saw. I had to hike a bit from my campsite to find anything to cut. So you'll probably need to cut and carry firewood from some distance. The trail in is easy .... Flat, well used and marked, with bridges over mucky areas, and a few benches. The public beach is lovely, there's good rock hunting up toward the point if you're into hiking to other parts of the shoreline. Great trail system. The drive in on the two track sand trail road is ok most of the time but I would imagine you need 4 wheel drive occasionally. It's all sand.

Road is narrow and rough. Caution met cars on road and have to pull over. Lots of private property keep out signs on way in. We came in from the south. Glad we did There is a parking lot and lots of signs no pets. Walk a shortbit and beach looks empty but behind the dunes is a beach Full of people and there dogs unleashed. Photo worthy beach is clean. Leaving as two minivans came in with there kids about 8 and 10 sitting on the top van roof as they drove in. Everyone ideas ready to have fun.

Absolutely must to visit place for clean quiet beach lovers! About 3 miles walking beach. The road is very narrow and sandy. No pets.

Ride the sides where the grass is. Seen cars get through it no problem. Don't head for the sand. Go around it. There is also a path heading in from the other direction that is a little bumpy but less sandy.
Three campsites I believe. They are hike-in so you need to walk at least a mile to get to them. They are pretty rustic but very quiet and right next to the lake.
Yes. As long as you stay on the road. Trails on park land will be marked as non motorized.
I see pets but no camping. There are 4 rustic cabins for camping. All are rustic.
If you come from the Black River side that is plowed park at the end of the raod
