We very much enjoyed our experience at this park and campground. Loop A is definitely the best place for a more secluded tent camping experience, it had easy access to a steep trail down to the small Lake Allaman. If you are staying in any of the other loops, be sure to get the outside spots are these are more private and wooded. The park is free to enter with the gates being closed at night to lock the campground, campers are given a code to get in and out if necessary. We also did some of the hiking trails that were very well maintained, did not see another person the entire time. You could stay in this park for a night if camping and about a half day. Due to the park's small size you run out of things to do rather quickly.

Great campground. Close to the highway, but far enough away to be quiet. Great, shaded lots and not crammed in. Park attendants were great and really impressive how clean the bathrooms were. Nice hiking trails- not incredibly rigorous but could spend a few hours walking then all. Overall highly recommend

Excellent all the way around. Terrific camp host, Ruth was super helpful. Nicest, cleanest campground bathroom I have ever seen in a state park, and even nicer than most all private RV parks costing at least twice as much. No water or sewer on site, some electric sites, only 2 with 50 amp. There is some road noise from interstate but not bad. Thoroughly enjoyed, wish we could have stayed a few more days for the cool front to go through. It was 91 degrees at the end of September but cooled off considerably at night.

Very nice and well kept park. Camped here Monday thru Thursday so uncrowded and quiet. I would give 5 stars if it had full hookups. Electric only with nice dump stations. I would return here again without reservation.

When we were there last month no ice just firewood with debit or credit card only.
I didn't have a reservation bu
Yes. You cam swim in lake.. Not really a beach but whem we were there, people were swimming
Yes we took our kids there several times. You can swim in the pond, but no life guard. At own risk. We do it all the time. Just make sure that if you plan to have that many people to contact them ahead of time so that you have enough space. You may need 3 spots!
On rocky ford trail, there are a couple fords you are able to walk out on. Not a waterfall, but still beautiful. The fords are generally pretty dry this time of year, but in wet seasons they run pretty good. Kinda reminiscent of a waterfall, especially for little kids.
Yes they have plenty of sites in Campground 2 or 4 to accommodate your RV. Please make sure to check availability however. I do know they are having a special Halloween event coming up soon.
Yes on leashes but make sure you have flea and tick protection on them as well. Also if they are startled easily you may want to bring a carrier as deer and raccoons are always on the camp at night.
No, sorry. Great tent camping though. One of our favorite camping getaways from the city
Yes there is RV parking. I believe it's around $40/night.
Andrew is correct
No they all have grates
You didn't mention what kind of event so as stated by Angi there is the picnic shelter by the lake and a nearby bathroom. For camping, there are three group camp sites. You will have to call the park to make reservations.
I walked around and have not found any Falls there but I guess it depends on what your definition of waterfalls are and how high and big
Depends on what youre trying to catch. Catfishing is great...if you know where to fish for them. Bass...not so much. Crappie, not at all. Bluegill, absolutely.
No there is not a boat ramp. The lake isn't that big or that deep. It's more like a giant pond.
Yes they are pretty smooth paths and nice camping sites too.
We love it and the other people are right it just keeps getting better. Best camping ever
Go to Mo State Parks website, click on Make a Reservation, click on Camping and Lodging, Search Parks enter Wallace, that should take you to their campground site and find map of campground.
