Very beautiful state park. I kept hearing good things about this place so finally we decided to go with the family and check it out for ourselves. It’s very well organized and maintained park. We went there right before Memorial Day weekend and it was packed. We didn’t get to swim in spring water, however we did take a walk on their small trail around the creek. It was amazing to see crystal clear lagoons here and there. They do have stationary grills installed around the picnic area and have bench tables if you want to bring your own supplies and cook at the park. Overall great place to spend time with family and friends while being out in the nature. By the way entrance fee is $4 per vehicle.

What a beautiful spring! We didn’t know what to expect being from Nevada. The spring looked inviting but first we took a small trail walk. We saw a baby turtle and some fish, thankfully no alligator! Then we braved the cold water and jumped and played in the spring. We had a fun time and it was so fun to banter with others on the cold water!

The park and spring were gorgeous! The water was super cold but we expected that. It was clear and you could see some beautiful fish. There was a separate section that was more shallow but had a current. There wasn't really a great place for little ones to wade but the water was a bit cold for her anyway so we did a short dip with her life jacket and then just sat and dangled feet and checked out some trails. Lots of picnic tables and there were restrooms at the entrance. I was disappointed that the steps going down into the spring were roped off so you could only use the ladders or the steps down into the creek from which the spring was not accessible. There was both a ramp and steps down to the edge of the spring but there wasn't an actual ramp down into the water. Did not affect our experience but something to note for those needing more accessibility.

The fountain of youth. For being January the water was actually quite favorable. Found a baby turtle, didn't keep it fyi. Very nice short nature walk. Seeing where the river meets the spring water was really cool. A must see .

$4. Car load. 7am-sunset. You can grill out, play volleyball, nature trail, see fish, never saw snakes or alligators yet. But doesn't mean they aren't there in hiding. They have restrooms & out side shower to rinse off.
I Just brought my dog two days ago. Yes they can go as long as they are leashed and can not go in swimming area. But I followed a trail and took the dog in there. Lots of shady areas also.
They have Pavilions to have shade for parties or lunch with grills but no cabins
You can but not that much area for it and you can't get to the big area with one
Grayton Beach State Park in Santa Rosa Beach has camping spots it's on the way to Destin on 98. Hope this helps
As long as they are on a leash and if they stay in the creek to swim
You would need a pair of goggles and fins if you intend to just dive under with free diving. If you actually want to cave dive, you need training on how to handle the confined space and restricted movement, along with specialized gear (mask, find, respirator, bcd) to safely dive
The water was clear when I was there.
The water is a consistent 68° year round with almost perfect clarity.
I did not see anyone fishing there. Spring water is cold. I did not see fish when I walked trail and did not see anyone fishing
If you can drink alcoholic beverages by glass, $ 4 per car is charged
I would say no on a paddle board, more like a swimming area at Ponce De Leon. Morrison Springs is where i would take a Paddle Board
They are. They close at 7pm...I was there a few days ago. There's a line to get in but it's about 20-30mins wait.
Yes. Ponce de Leone springs is open all year long from sun up to sun down.
On the website it says it's opened 365 days a year. 8am til sunset.
Dogs are able to swim in most cases, but they're not allowed in the general population springs. You can take them on the trail, and if they are general good there as it's more private. As always, ask the staff on-site to confirm!
Should not affect water clarity at all.
Vortex is the only camping area close by.
Yes. You can I recommend getting their somewhat early to get you a good spot and grill. Theirs only so many grills. You cant bring beer in though
Go to Morrison Springs which is just down the road from there. No cost to get in and there is a boat ramp and parking. Great for Kayaks, boats, or SUP boards.
I'm not sure but they do have grills
Lots of rain here in the past three days and is to continue thru today. Due to storm Gordon. Not sure exactly when you are coming but like Shane said just call. good people there, they will be glad to answer any and all questions.
There is tubing rental prior to going into the park. But most ppl bring their own tubes, floaters, etc...
Yeah,I wouldn't take it to the main swimming area just the creek.I didn't see any signs posted but that would be the right thing to do.Enjoy
Really too small for that. Morrison Springs would be a better choice.
Down in the creek, yes. They are not allowed in the big swim area.
3.00 per car, standard car. No boat trip though
No camping at Ponce de Leon springs. There is camping at the sister park, Falling Waters State Park.
