The history on display was interesting and the views were great of the surrounding hills. If you need restrooms the city has a nice park with well maintained ones down the hill by the ballpark and the train tracks....

It is hard to find. Help's to have someone in the car with a smartphone. Not a lot to see when you get there. The wheat field is interesting. There is a visitor center in town with more information.

For people who like historical sites, this one is really neat. There's the history of the battle, and then there's the history of the monument that was placed in 1914. It's interesting how the story of whether a chief assisted the soldiers in their retreat has changed over time. I'm glad I checked out this site, situated in a little grain town in Eastern Washington's palouse region. The view from the hill over the Pine River and the wheat fields beyond was beautiful.
