If I could give this place negative stars I would! My mother asked to go to the hospital because she was having a hard time breathing and was sick. After patiently waiting 3 hours for someone to call the ambulance she couldn't wait any longer and had to call her self. She was in the clear for covid and then they put someone that had covid in her room and now has covid! The staff is super negligent on patient care! Would not recommend this place if you want your loved one to has good care especially if they are disabled.very disappointing knowing how these places should be ran since I've worked at places like this taking care of patients. Do better!

My mother was placed here Friday night I took her out 15 minutes after arriving. This place was deplorable. Human feces on bathroom walls, no hand soap sink was dirty, hole in wall under ac unit floor was sticky and smelled like urine, dresser drawers had crumbs and trash in them. Room had wrappers on the floor I asked if they had housekeeping and was told they do but they probably didn’t get a chance to clean the room yet. This place is a disgrace and if your loved one is there get them out.

Pros and Cons of this place: Pro- lots of in house specialties Con- they don't like you to get outside doctors Pro- foods included And the choices sound good but... Con- it's cold and gross- most of the time.. sometimes it is surprising and delicious. Pro- only two patients to a room Con- rooms are cluttered- and dirty- the floors, the walls, the ac units, dressers inside and out, closets don't look like they have been cleaned ever- in fact the door is falling off in our room and a few others on the same hallway. Pro- lots of friendly staff Con- lots of un-friendly staff! In fact some rude nurse on the afternoon shift. Told a lady to "just sit down and wait" at the nurses station. Many of the aides walk around with ear buds in (I'd be fired from my job if I did that!) some of the nurses just seem like they don't care... which is sad cause they choose to work here. Pro- PT staff is very nice and some of the best therapy we have gotten in facilities Con- wish the aide would let us do more- like the therapy people do Pro- the entrance/lobby is so pretty- Well decorated Con- the resident rooms are not... In fact they are gross- see above. The hallways often Smell if urine or feces- yuck. Pro- there are lots of good activities for residents/us to get involved in Con- I can't really think of anything. Pro- smoking facility Con- you can only smoke at certain times and it takes a lifetime for the "smoke aids" to show up. They are continually paging for the "smoke aid" to go to the patio. As a smoker- this is just awful to wait for. Pro- lots of people working during the day Con- lots of people "working" aka standing around at the nurses station talking- and not paying attention, greeting us, making us feel ignored when we come to ask a question... night time is another story- ghost town. Overall- This place has lots it can improve on- but not the worst I've been in/to. Has a lot of potential if the staff seemed to care more!

I would like to thank all of the staff at Consulate of Safety Harbor for their continued dedication and great care they have provided to my mother over the past years! My mother was admitted last year and needed rehab after her hip surgery. She did so well with her rehab and was able to go home!! She was able to go home and was independent for several months. She developed other deficiencies due to her age and asked to return to her friends as Consulate of Safety Harbor! I really was grateful of the relationships developed during her stay and the homelike atmosphere she felt while she remains a long term care resident at the center.

Your length of stay is determined by many factors: your physical condition, any underlying medical conditions, your previous level of independence and where you will go after discharge.
Among others, we offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Physical therapy (PT) examines, evaluates and treats patients with various disorders including musculoskeletal conditions, heart conditions, neurological disorders, wounds, and more. A PT also recommends devices that will assist the patient with function and mobility. Occupational therapy (OT) examines, evaluates and treats patients to afford them improved function in the performance of activities of daily living (ADLs). An OT might train a patient to use medical or adaptive equipment, provide splint fabrication, or perform neuromuscular re-education. OT also includes cognitive retraining associated with ADLs and safety, energy conservation techniques, and sensory deficit compression techniques. Speech therapy evaluates, diagnoses and treats disorders of communication, cognition and language. Sometimes, swallow studies allow for objective assessment of the swallowing function.
The cost of skilled nursing varies depending on where you live, what level of care is provided and what type of accommodations you choose. Most seniors do not usually meet their long-term care needs from any one source. Instead a combination of support private funds, long-term care insurance and government assistance is used to cover the costs. Medicare covers post-hospital, short-term skilled care only and may not cover the cost of ongoing nursing home care. For low-income seniors who meet eligibility requirements, Medicaid might pay a portion of the cost.
Check with the center you are considering and ask them about pet policies. Some centers have pets on site or offer pet therapy that all of the residents can enjoy and interact with.
Yes. Skilled nursing (or nursing home) centers have a full calendar of activities and social events for residents, including art classes, ice cream socials, bingo and game night, prayer service, movie night and much more!
Skilled nursing centers are designed to provide specialized care individuals who have health conditions that require constant monitoring and availability of medical personnel. Skilled nursing centers, also known as nursing homes, provide 24-hour clinical supervision, meals, activities and health management support for their residents.
It's not that great .
