I was so sad it was under construction when we went there. It was my daughter's first time there.

Beautiful temple, and one of the best places in the world to feel the Holy Spirit of God! If you are not a Latter-day Saint, I invite you to sit down somewhere on the temple grounds and pray, read your scriptures, or even just meditate. You will be able to come closer to God than just about anything else! If you want to learn more about how you felt, or even go inside, talk to missionaries like me and we can help you!

Temple is under construction :( really wished we could’ve seen it! We’re not even Mormon but I am into architecture so it was a bummer it wasn’t there

Temples existed throughout Biblical times. These buildings were considered the house of the Lord (see 2 Chronicles 2:1-5). Latter-day Saint temples are likewise considered houses of the Lord by Church members. To Latter-day Saints, temples are sacred buildings in which they are taught about the central role of Christ in God’s plan of salvation and their personal relationship with God. In temples, members of the Church make covenants with God to live a virtuous and faithful life. They also offer sacraments on behalf of their deceased ancestors. Temples are also used to perform marriage ceremonies that promise the faithful eternal life with their families. For members of the Church, family is of central importance. (Content quoted from an official church website).
Lynda Beam, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormons) believe in being sealed for all time and eternity to their spouses and families. Being sealed is a sacred ordinance that takes place within the temple and one must be worthy to hold a recommend to go inside the temple and perform the ordinances inside. You can search a Facebook page in Salt Lake about Jobs and you might find some job
Its every 15 or 30 minutes during the day. You can also do a self tour. You can't go into the temple though.
Yes of course! It is estimated that the Temple will complete its renovation by the year 2024 and the open doors of the Temple are expected for all public, before its consecration
The number is for the SLC Temple information is #801-240-2640. They can tell you the prayer roll #.
Yes Maria!
The first session is at 6:00 AM and I believe the last session is at 7:00 PM. The doors open at 5:00 AM I believe, I hope this answers your question! Here's the link to its website just in case. https://www.lds.org/temples/details/salt-lake-temple?lang=eng
If you are bringing a lot of people it's a good idea to make a reservation, but you dont have to if it's just a couple people.
Every hour on the hour from 6am to 7pm
Because that is the first weekend in April, the temple will actually be closed for our General Conference meetings.
Absolutely! There's an elevator available to provide wheelchair access to the temple doors.
The temple is not open it's under renovation construction. But the grounds are open and you can see the work being done. The conference center is acting as the visitor center now with tours and things moved from the old visitor center.
Opening is scheduled for 2024 with an open house.
As of 3/24/21 you could get to it to a viewing area of the temple but it was drained of water
I agree with Roger the best thing to do would be to ask at the job site Foreman and he will be able to give you more information
The Temple is not open.
Hello Salete, unfortunately I can't tell you. If you are a member of the church I advise you to ask someone from the leadership.
The SALT CITY TEMPLE will be closed for renovation for 4 years from the end of December. This will also involved work on Temple Square. For the sessions it is necessary to inquire until the closing at the reception of the Temple.
On the hour.
It varies by day. You can check the schedule here: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/temples/details/salt-lake-temple?lang=eng
Closed Sunday's and Monday'scurrently. Will be closing late December for 4 years for renovations.
I think you can do a walk in with a small group, but there is a limit to the number of proxy baptisms that can be performed per person. Not sure of the number. Possibly 3 to 5 each.
They start on the hour all day long
Yes, you can walk in and do an endowment session here without an appointment.
The last section was 7 PM.
Temple square would be open now. North and South Visitor's Centers also.
I have no idea if it exists or not.
Every hour, 6am through 7pm (generally)
Yes! If you park at the conference center then get a validation from the front desk at the temple
No they provide everything
Not yet! Better check out the grounds before winter I guess.... :)
The hours and closure dates are listed at this link: https://www.ChurchOfJesusChrist.org/temples/details/salt-lake-temple?lang=eng The current hours for the Temple Square North Visitors' Center are 9am - 9pm daily.
The only time Temple Clothes are worn is when a white wedding has been requested. These have become rare due to locker space and usually the wedding party would need to participate in a session, just before the sealing to accomplish a white wedding. Witnesses are in street clothes. The sealer and bride and groom are usually the only ones in Temple Clothes.
Yes. The grounds are open to everyone. You can't go into the actual temple without a recommend.
He is not Christian in the traditional sense, but they still claim to be Christian.
It isnt a ward building. But if you Google LDS Meetinghouse Locator, you should be able to find a ward near hear, and it will tell you the Bishop's name.
Temple Square, as well as many of the surrounding buildings are open to the public and free to enter. Tours are offered as well. Parking would be your only expense. Be aware that the temple itself is reserved for church members, but you may take photos of the exterior. Have a nice visit!

The grounds immediately around the Temple are typically closed when the Temple is closed. Everything else is usually open.
You'll want to make a reservation by calling the temple.
Yes they are from 6 am to 7pm every hour
Probably can find somewhere that has bike racks like City Creek Mall... There are no bike racks that I'm aware of. Call Temple square and ask them.
I understand that they do have sessions in Spanish but it is easier to call by phone to know the specific hours.
The temple opens at 6am and closes at 7pm but the Salt Lake temple will be temporarily closed until February 5, 2018.
Only temple open on Monday is Provo Hill because of the MTC
I would call the temple. You can find their number by googling Salt Lake City LDS temple and look for the church's official website. :)
The Sacrament is not given in the Temple. The temple is for sacred covenants like Baptisms for the Dead, confirmations, Endowments, Initiatory, Sealings
Yes you can rent them, come in many sizes
Yes you can rent all clothing needed. There is a small fee. I believe the cost for everything needed for an endowment session is $5. Not positive though. Usually the clothing for baptism and initiatory is free.
It really depends on the season. Summertime has the most, but I dont know what the "record" is.
It is not necessary if you have a recommendation.
