Dealing with an alcoholic partner for 10 years unable to escape on my own. It was a rough process to reestablish but I could not have done it without DCFS CPS. I am a father and there limited but to the fact investigation shows at least one aspect of the world which judging a book by the cover vs what is actual happening can be clearly defined. I have been involved with 2 cases, both unsupported on my end. The proper person had supported next to there name. To someone in my situation I feel encouraged, I only wish they had more strength in the legal system/family court system.

Dont even talk to them or let them anywhere near your childten they will snatch them up with no good reason at all and switch around every word you say .

Normally, the reason a caseworker goes to a family's house is because a complaint was registered and they are coming out to make sure the children are safe and cared for. Issues could be abuse(physical, sexual, mental), neglect(food, attention and supervision, medical neglect) or drug abuse which leads to the children not being a priority, as they should be. By law, these issues must be reported and if they aren't you could get failure to protect if you're in the home. Since children can't take care of themselves, this is a sensitive issue. Sometimes it is just a simple misunderstanding that needs clarification.
