Close to the Mall of America, they offer a shuttle there. Very good pricing. Very easy to bring your dogs (up to 2) here, no weight or breed restrictions and no extra security deposit or fees. The room is decent, clean. The grab and go breakfast is decent.

We picked this location due to it's closeness to family and friends. However, the rooms are dated, and in need of updating. The hotel is U shaped and doesn't have elevators so the second floor can only be accessed by climbing stairs. Customer parking is between the long parts of the U. 2 of the exterior entrances are accessed by climbing steep flights of concrete stairs. Because of the pandemic they are still short of staff so you only get room cleaning once during your stay . We checked in on Saturday and were staying until Friday so we set Tuesday as the day for service. Sunday we left to have lunch with a relative and do some shopping. When we returned our key cards wouldn't open the entrance from the parking lot. We had to drive to the entrance to get them reset. This happened 2 days in a row. The 3rd day we had to remind the desk that we were staying until the end of the week. The keys worked the rest of the week. The room wasn't done on Tuesday or Wednesday. On Thursday we stopped by the office to remind them to do the room. It was done that day. While it was convenient to have a Culver's next door we are seriously considering whether or not we'd stay here again.

The staff was friendly and helpful. However, this property has seen better days. It is not only dated, but the attention to details are lacking. For example, the in room coffee maker had cups and coffee, but the "drawer" for the coffee packets was for a different machine. In addition, this has been that way long enough that there was heavy dust inside the water reservoir. The grab and go breakfast offered was pop tarts, yogurt, bananas, muffins, granola bars and not good coffee. The hallway had yelling and a potential fight break out and some horrid guests were yelling racial slurs at the hotel staff. All in all the stay here was very different than it was 2 years ago when I gave it a 4 star rating. The hotel does offer a free airport shuttle and is convenient for food delivery or running out to the mall of America. We have stayed at several la quinta over the years and this one is in dire need of update and rescue.

I had a horrible experience. The shower flooded because of a faulty drain. We got to the hotel around 5:30 PM and get in the shower soon after. Then it didn't drain fast enough to keep it from running over the edge onto the floor. I went to the lobby to say something. We were offered a different room but we decided we don't want to stay anymore because of the condition of the rooms and the smell of smoking going on in the nonsmoking facility. But since it was after 6 o'clock we would be charged for the room regardless. The dude at the desk was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a customer care position. He clearly tried to force me to say that he made satisfaction with me. I had a hard time believing what I'm hearing!
