First off, the staff here are all wonderful. Everyone from the porters to the front desk to the concierge was so friendly and helpful. We didn't have a single complaint about anyone we encountered. The location of the hotel is also just about as perfect as you can get. But it's a shame that the hotel itself is absolutely horrible. The rooms are on par with a $50 motel. It was by far the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in. There were also no amenities in it whatsoever, not even a mini-fridge! The bathroom was embarrassingly bad. I'm talking old stained bathtub/shower that is about 6" narrower than the average man's shoulders, a rusty shower curtain, the toilet seat surface was peeling off and heavily stained, and once again, the bathroom was the smallest bathroom we have ever been in. The old squeaky bed didn't come with a comforter, just a thin blanket and odd-looking floral sheets (to hide the stains maybe?) Breakfast was an equal disappointment: store-bought ham slices and sandwich cheese, some stale muffins, and fruit. They didn't even have basic items like scrambled eggs. Overall, lovely staff, but pitiful hotel. We would not recommend it.

A fantastic location and very friendly and attentive staff. The std. rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny but that is expected in an historical hotel. Where they fall down though is with amenities. No dresser, no fridge, no in room bar, no coffee maker, missing night stands There was plenty of room for these and these are things that most guests expect, we did. Also we were not informed that the view would be filled with a construction that was active during the day. The continental breakfast was not as good as we’ve had at a Holiday Inn Express. An hotel of this caliber should be doing omelets, pancakes and such. The Iroquois has potential to be great but just doesn’t inspire us to return again.

Hotel Iroquois was absolutely incredible! Excellent staff, comfortable, well appointed rooms, and it was immaculate! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated all of the little extras...turn down service with chocolates and water, robes, and throughout the day room tidying and towel replacement. Also, the continental breakfast was extremely generous and delicious! You must have dinner at the Carriage House! It was excellent! If you are looking for a beautiful place to be pampered on Mackinac Island...choose The Iroquois Hotel!!

From the easy check-in process to the lovely, decorative details and view from our room, our first experience at the Iroquois was flawless. We enjoyed a superb dinner in the Carriage House Restaurant, as well as the very nice, light breakfast buffet included in our stay. The staff was well-trained, efficient and friendly. Thank you so much. We will be back!
