Washington Social Security and Raleigh Social Security will say one thing. Asheville and Hendersonville say another. They're only slow Backwoods Democrat influenced. Just like the rest of Asheville government.

Friendly people and good service

I call everyday and I am put on hold for over 30 minutes before I give up. I am trying to make an appointment at the Asheville office because NO-ONE who answers the phone, the rare times someone has is not very bright. They do not listen to me before making recommendations or an answer and when I point out to them again what I am requesting they put me on hold and research my file again and again. I recall before the pandemic you could walk in and see someone. Appointments were not necessary. It is extremely disappointing our government is so broken and no one that works for them is educated. Everything that is on-line is incorrect and the COLA that was issued for 2022 does not even show up in my account. It is a good thing I am not desperate for my checks! UPDATE: I actually showed up at the office and was able to see someone to straighten out my issue with miss-information. I am delighted by the help I received.

If 65 is the age of full retirement for you, you will be switched from disability to retirement. You can earn income on disability and retirement. There are limits however.
Go to medicare.gov. You might also need to go to your local Social Security office
Monday
Contact your nearest dps office or closest agency that handles this depending on your location. Should have paper work if not trying to do online
how can i make an appointment with the local ss office
From my understanding, you are able to receive this benefit and it will not count against you as unearned income
I would call your social security case worker they can give you more information about that then a normal person
If you’ve lost it all you will need is your I.D. walk in no appointment needed as of right now. It’s quick and easy. But they mail it to you so you won’t have it in hand on the day of.
I went there at 10:00am this morning and they were open, so i dont know why the recording told you they were closed
I called the local office. The appointment was about a month out, but at least there was not a long wait.
Keep trying is all I can advise. It took me 26 phone calls over several days. I just called when I could fit it in my schedule. After waiting for 10mins or so, I hung up and called back. I eventually got through and made an appointment. They did tell me that they will soon be going back to the old method of you showing up and getting a number and waiting. Good luck and I wish you lots of patience!
I used Google
No, you can request a replacement card on the website or by the automated system.
You can order it online at ssa.gov
they arent saying, but if you go there. They have a local # posted on the door and you can talk to someone easily
No. This is a scam call. If SSA wanted or needed information, they will send a letter or a request to see you in office.
I have a job the company I work for told me it would be part time but its like 60 per week and now I might get a fine but the disability people made me go for a 4 hour evaluation and will not let me know if I'm getting a fine they keep me up in the air in suspense. But if I get a fine it won't be the first time I got one before so your not suppose to make 880 a month.
Yes and yes. You will need a valid driver's license.
Yes, when you ask for a replacement, it is the same number. Only under special events (with A LOT of paper work) would you be given a new number!
I don't have a clue, you ought to call the Social security office.
That's something they'd have to look into for you at the office, or you can see if your question is answered on their website.
No. A passport or State ID or Drivers license are your best bets.
I would go directly to the location for that particular matter.I believe it would be most helpful because more than likely they won't be able to help you with that request over the phone and they are more helpful in person!
I believe there is a limit on how much you can make a year. Not on hours worked per week.
It's a scam. SS will not call you!! NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR NUMBER!
If you mean Medicaid card, those are issued through the Dept of Social Services, not the Social Security office. If you need a replacement Social Security card, you will need ID for both of you and apply in person.
Not a copy, but you can order a replacement as long as you have I.D. or proper documentation.
Usually divorce decree and ID. Make sure the decree states you will be going back to your old name!
Visiting their website states they recommend it. https://www.va.gov/health-care/about-va-health-benefits/va-health-care-and-other-insurance/
Depends on what you are doing. For disability or retirement cases, it always helps!
It depends on what you draw initially.
That is a difficult question to answer. SSI benefits do get adjusted with living arrangement changes. Its best to ask about your specific scenario to get the best answer.
Apply in office, by mail, or online to get more information about disability claims. This cannot be answered quickly.
Yes, a durable power of attorney typically covers medical and financial decisions. That being said there may be provisions in your specific POA that limit your power. Good luck.
Think Medicare b is age 65. And ss can be put off not sure how long have to wait but is something to ask dss probably first. Close local resources are willing to reach out and help just keep in touch.
Usually through department of motor vehicles for license and local courthouse for register of residence. Social security not as much maybe wrong though
Is usually about 50% net pay
Public services. Look to find veteran housing or temporary housing to make due until stable
Websites help. But department public or social services should have proper paper procedures

Go online and do it at ssa.gov or go there... They are pretty quick...
Less than two weeks ago I signed up for SS at the office and have already received a letter confirming my "award". The language in the form mentioned SS and Disability.
